Overview

FET 2025 exam pattern was released by the National Board of Examinations. The exam pattern gives all information about the exam duration, number of questions and total marks. The FET 2025 exam was held on March 14, 2026. Students should know the exam pattern before starting their preparation. The FET Result 2025 will be out soon.

It helps them plan their study, practice mock tests, and manage time well. Students should read the exam pattern carefully so they can do their best on the FET exam day.

FET 2025 Exam Pattern: In Detail

Mode of the examination

FET is conducted online. Students are allotted desktop at the exam centre. Answers have to be marked and submit online. Single-best answer type questions are asked in the exam, which means that students have to mark only one answer for each question.

Clubbing

NBE clubbed certain courses which have the same eligibility. These courses were treated as one while filling the application form of FET 2025. Also, candidates can choose only one Fellowship course/clubbed course while filling the FET 2025 application form.

FET 2025 Pattern and Question Paper

The question paper for each Fellowship course is different.  However, the question paper for the clubbed courses is the same. Part A of the question paper for any fellowship course/clubbed group shall comprise of MCQs from the eligible feeder broad/ super speciality course(s).

The FET 2025 question paper consists of 100 questions. These will be divided into two sections, Part A and Part B. The distribution of questions in these two sections is given below.

Distribution of the questions

Part A: 40 percent of the questions in the FET 2025 question paper come from the feeder broad speciality course. Candidates will get 45 minutes to attempt this section.

If there is a single feeder broad speciality course for a particular super-speciality, the questions in Part A will only be from the speciality course determining the eligibility.

For example, the only feeder broad speciality for Fellowship Courses in Body MR Imaging, Cross Sectional Body Imaging and Breast Imaging is MD/DNB Radiodiagnosis. Therefore, Part A, in this case, will comprise questions from Radiodiagnosis only. The questions will be of PG exit level.

Part B: 60 percent of the questions in FET 2025 question paper will be from the chosen Fellowship course. Candidates will get 60 minutes to attempt this section. The questions will be basic entry-level questions and will also cover topics from clinical scenarios.

Marking Scheme

  • For every correct response, candidates will be awarded four marks
  • For every incorrect response, one mark shall be deducted
  • No marks shall be awarded/deducted for unattempted questions
  • Questions marked will be treated as answered and will be marked accordingly

FET 2025 Admit Card

The FET 2025 admit card was declared on March 10, 2026, on the registered portal in online mode only. Only those students who complete the FET Application process are eligible to access the FET hall ticket 2025. After getting the hall ticket, students must check out the details in it. In case there are any errors or mistakes, they must contact the exam official before the exam day.

FET 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

Check out the following guidelines to know what to dos and dont's of the exam day. 

  • The place and other details of the test centre were written on your FET 2025 admit card.
  • You should visit the exam centre one day before the exam so you can understand where everything is.
  • You must reach the exam centre at the reporting time written on your admit card.
  • All students will go through security checks, so please cooperate with the security staff.
  • Friends or family members who come with you cannot enter the exam hall.
  • You must bring a valid, unexpired ID proof on the exam day.
  • No one will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 8:30 AM.

Q:   Will FET exam be held in pen and paper mode?
A: 

The FET 2025 exam was held in computer-based mode. The official exam dates were released on the official portal, and the exam was conducted on March 14, 2026. The question paper comprised 100 questions, and candidates were given 105 minutes to answer them. 

Q:   Will I have to attempt each section separately in FET, or I can switch between sections?
A: 

No, you will not be allowed to switch between sections in FET exam. Only after you complete the first section will you be able to proceed to the next. A total of 100 multiple choice questions are asked in FET exam and candidates get 105 minutes to answer them. The exam is held in computer-based mode at designated test centres across the country.

Q:   I had marked two answers for review in FET, which happened to be correct. Will I get marks for them?
A: 

Yes, the answers marked for review will be considered and shall be marked in accordance with the marking scheme. Candidates get marks if the question in review was right or wrong. In this particular case, candidates will get full marks. Candidates are advised to read exam pattern and official brochure carefully to get clarity about such things.

Q:   Has NBE released FET exam pattern?

Yes. NBE released FET exam pattern through official information brochure. Exam pattern comprises details regarding mode, medium, total number of questions, allotted time, and marking scheme. Exam will be held in English language in computer-based mode. Question paper for FET comprises 100 multiple choice questions and candidates get 105 minutes to answer them.

Q:   How many questions are asked in FET exam?

According to existing FET exam pattern, the total number of questions asked in the exam is 100. NBE, the exam conducting body releases exam pattern along with the official brochure which contains crucial details including mode, medium, total number of questions and its type, marking scheme etc. Candidates get 105 minutes to answer 100 multiple choice questions.

Q:   Will FET exam be held in Hindi medium?
A:

Q:   Is there provision of negative marking in FET?
A: 

Yes. There is a provision of negative marking in FET exam. According to exam pattern released in the brochure, 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong response. Students will get 4 marks for every right response.
