The exam is conducted anually in computer-based mode.

Mode of the examination

FET is conducted online. Students are allotted desktop at the exam centre. Answers have to be marked and submit online. Single-best answer type questions are asked in the exam, which means that students have to mark only one answer for each question.

Clubbing

NBE has clubbed certain courses which have the same eligibility requirement. These courses will be treated as one while filling the application form of FET 2025. Also, candidates can choose only one Fellowship course/clubbed course while filling the FET 2025 application form.

FET 2025 Pattern and Question Paper

The question paper for each Fellowship course is different.  However, the question paper for the clubbed courses is same. Part A of the question paper for any fellowship course/clubbed group shall comprise of MCQs from the eligible feeder broad/ super specialty course(s).

The FET 2025 question paper consists of 100 questions. These will be divided into two sections, Part A and Part B. The distribution of questions in these two sections is given below.

Distribution of the questions

Part A: 40 percent of the questions in the FET 2025 question paper come from the feeder broad speciality course. Candidates will get 45 minutes to attempt this section.

If there is a single feeder broad specialty course for a particular super-specialty, the questions in Part A will only be from the specialty course determining the eligibility.

For example, the only feeder broad specialty for Fellowship Courses in Body MR Imaging, Cross Sectional Body Imaging and Breast Imaging is MD/DNB Radiodiagnosis. Therefore, Part A, in this case, will comprise questions from Radiodiagnosis only. The questions will be of PG exit level.

Part B: 60 percent of the questions in FET 2025 question paper will be from the chosen Fellowship course. Candidates will get 60 minutes to attempt this section. The questions will be basic entry-level questions and will also cover topics from clinical scenarios.

Marking Scheme

  • For every correct response, candidates will be awarded four marks
  • For every incorrect response, one mark shall be deducted
  • No marks shall be awarded/deducted for unattempted questions
  • Questions marked will be treated as answered and will be marked accordingly

The FET 2025 admit card was declared on March 10, 2026, on the registered portal in online mode only. Only those students who complete the FET Application process are eligible to access the FET hall ticket 2025. After getting the hall ticket, students must check out the details in it.   • The place and other details of the test centre will be written on your FET 2025 admit card.
  • You should visit the exam centre one day before the exam so you can understand where everything is.
  • You must reach the exam centre at the reporting time written on your admit card.
  • All students will go through security checks, so please cooperate with the security staff.
  • Friends or family members who come with you cannot enter the exam hall.
  • You must bring a valid, unexpired ID proof on the exam day.

Students must possess a postgraduate medical degree (MD/ MS/ DM/ MCh/ DNB) in relevant specialty from a recognised institute. Q:   Will I have to attempt each section separately in FET, or I can switch between sections?
A: 

No, you will not be allowed to switch between sections in FET exam. Only after you complete the first section will you be able to proceed to the next. A total of 100 multiple choice questions are asked in FET exam and candidates get 105 minutes to answer them. The exam is held in computer-based mode at designated test centres across the country.

Q:   I had marked two answers for review in FET, which happened to be correct. Will I get marks for them?

The FET exam consists of 100 MCQs carrying a total of 400 marks. Each correct answer gives 4 marks, and each wrong answer gives -1. The exam timing is 105 minutes and is conducted online. There are two sections in the exam: Part A and Part B.
