CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam 2026 will be conducted on Saturday, February 28, between 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Check expected questions, important chapters, high-weightage topics, marking scheme and last-minute revision tips for board students.
Chemistry is considered one of the most scoring but concept-based subjects in the Science stream. Hence, a different approach is necessary to crack the exam.
As per the latest exam pattern for CBSE class 12 Chemistry question paper, the test will be divided into Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry sections. There will be multiple-choice questions, short-answer and long-answer type questions.
Important note: CBSE will provide internal choices in most sections. However, MCQ section will not have any choices.

Based on previous years' papers, the below questions have been repeatedly asked in class 12 Chemistry exam 2026:
- Numerical problems from Electrochemistry and Chemical Kinetics.
- Name reactions, conversions and reasoning-based questions from Organic Chemistry.
- From Inorganic Chemistry, important reactions, color changes and properties of compounds are expected to be asked in the exam.
Advice for Board Students
- Read definitions, reactions, tables today and also revise it tomorrow morning.
- Do not start any new topic as this may create anxiety and confusion.
- Attempt the answers neatly and avoid too much strike through the answer.
- Understand whether explain, derive, calculate, state, or justify is required for the answer and attempt accordingly.
- Attempt the section you are most confident of. This will give the examiner an insight of your answer sheet.
