Annual examinations for Classes 9, 11 are all set to begin from this week in many schools in the offline mode. Many parents are skeptical about sending their children to school.
Many private schools in Delhi are set to begin conducting offline final exams for classes 9 and 11 students from this week. However, there is apprehension among some parents over the move.
CBSE had released a circular on February 11 stating, βFor classes IX and XI also, schools should take steps to identify and remedy learning gaps and, thereafter, conduct examinations by strictly following COVID safety protocol as per examination bye-laws.β
Many schools had notified that they would be conducting offline exams for students of these two classes when some parents had raised concerns. As a result, many schools have decided to conduct the examinations for Class 9, 11 online, while some continue to go offline.
However, some parents are still pushing against offline exams. The Delhi Parentsβ Association wrote to the L-G, Chief Minister, NHRC and NCPCR last week, stating, βWe appeal to you to keep in mind the safety, happiness and bright future of children and understand their mental state and order online exams for students of classes 9 and 11 studying in Delhiβs private schools, and relieve them from their mental stress.β
Schools will be conducting the annual examinations of classes 9 and 11 before the beginning of 10th, 12th board exams. CBSE 10th exams 2021 are scheduled between May 4 and June 7 while CBSE 12th exams 2021 will be held between May 4 and June 11.
