GAT-B 2026 application form: The National Testing Agency will start GAT-B 2026 registration soon. The expected release date for the online form is first week February. The official website to apply for Graduate Aptitude Test of Biotechnology entrance exam is dbt.nta.ac.in. GAT-B 2026 is an All-Indian Entrance Examination conducted to offer admissions to DBT (Department of Biotechnology) and other allied programmes at participating institutes and universities. 

The application process is online and includes stages such as registration, uploading of document, and fee payment. According to last year's notification, GAT-B application form is INR 1300/- (for General-UR/OBC-NCL/EWS category) and INR 650/- for (SC/ST/PwD) candidates. Interested candidates should check their GAT-B eligibility and submit their form before last date. The GAT-B 2026 exam dates will be announced soon. Once GAT-B registration 2026 is over, NTA will open correction window to make changes in their exam form. Read below to know more.

GAT-B Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates who want to apply for GAT-B 2026 must check their eligibility first. The criteria comprise their nationality, educational qualifications, minimum qualifying marks, etc. Read below to know more -

  • Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences or related disciplines from a recognised university or institute. 
  • Candidates from reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) or PwD must secure a minimum qualifying mark 50% in their bachelor's programme. On the other hand, minimum qualifying mark for general category applicants is 60%. 
  • Final-year students can also apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology. 
  • The nationality of the applicants must be Indian.

Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will be not be eligible to apply for GAT-B exam 2026

Documents Checklist for GAT-B 2026 Registration

Candidates filling GAT-B application form must keep following documents ready -

  • Valid Government ID proof.  
  • Date of birth certificate (as mentioned in Class X Board Certificate).  
  • Govt. Identity Details like Aadhar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/Bank Account Number/PAN Number/Other valid Govt. IDs  
  • Educational Qualification details.  
  • Actual category viz General (UR) / EWS / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC /ST correctly mentioned in the relevant column.   
  • Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.  
  • Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format.  
  • Scanned copy of Certificate for Appearing/Result Awaiting Candidates.   
  • Four (04) Cities of your Choice.  
  • Bank account details for payment of fee.  
  • Valid E-mail ID
  • Mobile number (which is active)

How to Fill GAT-B Application Form?

The National Testing Agency will start GAT-B 2026 registration process soon. Candidates can check process to register and apply online. The application process of GAT-B and BET exam is the same. However, the dates for form filling of both exams are different. 

How to apply for NTA GAT-B 2026?

The process to fill GAT-B exam application form can be checked below -

  • Visit official website and click on "candidate's registration"
  • Fill in details and submit to generate login credentials
  • Now, login and fill in rest details
  • Upload documents (according to specifications)
  • Pay application fees and submit form
  • Submit and take printout of application form.

During GAT-B application form, candidates had to first register to receive a user ID and password. NTA had released the application form on its official page. For candidate's registration, students had to provide following information correctly.

Submission of the GAT-B application form

Once the form is completed, candidates have to download the "confirmation page" from the dasboard. Keep multiple copies for future reference. 

For BET admissions 2026, the NTA will release a separate schedule and notification. However, the application form process and document specifications remain the same.

GAT-B 2026 Correction Facility

GAT-B 2026 application form correction facility will be made available online after registration process. Candidates who have submitted their application form will be eligible to access the correction window on scheduled time period. The process to access GAT-B 2026 form correction facility can be checked below -

Exam centres

Candidates were allowed to change examination cities within the same state. Other than that, students can also change their date of birth, gender, category, and sub-category/PwBD. After submission of correction, candidates are advised to go through GAT-B exam pattern and start preparing for exam.
