GAT-B Application Form 2026: (OUT), Eligibility Criteria, Steps, Fees, and Documents Required

Candidates who want to apply for GAT-B 2026 must check their eligibility first. The criteria comprise their nationality, educational qualifications, minimum qualifying marks, etc. Read below to know more -

• Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences or related disciplines from a recognised university or institute. 
• Candidates from reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) or PwD must secure a minimum qualifying mark 50% in their bachelor's programme. On the other hand, minimum qualifying mark for general category applicants is 60%. 
• Final-year students can also apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology. 
• The nationality of the applicants must be Indian.

Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will be not be eligible to apply for GAT-B exam 2026.

Candidates filling GAT-B application form must keep following documents ready -

• Valid Government ID proof.  
• Date of birth certificate (as mentioned in Class X Board Certificate).  
• Govt. Identity Details like Aadhar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/Bank Account Number/PAN Number/Other valid Govt. IDs  
• Educational Qualification details.  
• Actual category viz General (UR) / EWS / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC /ST correctly mentioned in the relevant column.   
• Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.  
• Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format.  
• Scanned copy of Certificate for Appearing/Result Awaiting Candidates.   
• Four (04) Cities of your Choice.  
• Bank account details for payment of fee.  
• Valid E-mail ID
• Mobile number (which is active)

Candidates are advised to upload documents according to guidelines mentioned by authorities. 

The National Testing Agency has started GAT-B 2026 registration process. Candidates can check process to register and apply online. The application process of GAT-B and BET exam is the same. However, the dates for form filling of both exams are different. 

How to apply for NTA GAT-B 2026?

The process to fill GAT-B exam application form can be checked below -

• Visit official website and click on "candidate's registration"
• Fill in details and submit to generate login credentials
• Now, login and fill in rest details
• Upload documents (according to specifications)
• Pay application fees and submit form
• Submit and take printout of application form.

Candidates who want to apply for both exam, must fill one application form only.

Candidate Registration

During GAT-B application form, candidates had to first register to receive a user ID and password. NTA had released the application form on its official page. For candidate's registration, students had to provide following information correctly.

• Candidate’s name

• Qualifying exam

• Year of passing   
• Address  
• GAT-B exam centre preference
• Educational qualification  
• Details of parents/guardians  
• College preference  
• Alternate mobile number

Payment of Registration Fees

Accepted payment modes include- netbanking, credit card, debit card or UPI. The fees can be checked below. 

Submission of the GAT-B application form

Once the form is completed, candidates have to download the "confirmation page" from the dasboard. Keep multiple copies for future reference. 

For BET admissions 2026, the NTA will release a separate schedule and notification. However, the application form process and document specifications remain the same.

Once registration process for GAT-B 2026 is complete, the authorities will activate GAT-B 2026 application form correction window. During the correction facility, students who have submitted their application form will be able to make changes/edits in their form. GAT-B correction facility 2026 will be available for a limited period of time. 

To make changes in registration form, students need to follow the process mentioned below -

• Go to official website
• Log in using application number and password
• Select particulars (from the list that you want to make changes)
• Submit and pay fee 
• Keep revised application form data for future reference. 

Candidates must note that correction window is a one-time facility provided by authorities. Therefore, ensure that you make changes correctly.

Exam centres

Candidates were allowed to change examination cities within the same state. Other than that, students can also change their date of birth, gender, category, and sub-category/PwBD. After submission of correction, candidates are advised to go through GAT-B exam pattern and start preparing for exam.
