If your GATE score is 500+, you have chances of getting into NITs, particularly for the courses and NITs with lower cutoffs. NITs, such as Rourkela, Durgapur, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal accepted the GATE scores above 500+ in the Round 1 counselling. However, it also depends on the cutoff, category, course applying for and other factors.
The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score is valid for three years from the year of release for M.Tech admission purposes. According to the sources, candidates seeking admission to M.Tech programs at IITs, NITs, etc., or a job at top PSUs in India require GATE scores to be eligible for application. Additionally, the GATE score validity for PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) job aspirants is for only a year. Therefore, if candidates have qualified in the GATE 2025 exams, they are eligible for M.Tech admissions for the next three years after releasing the GATE results, but the scores to land a PSU job are valid for only a year. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the official website of the respective colleges or contact the admission cell of the colleges for the latest updates and notifications related to the admission process, eligibility criteria, courses offered, fees, cutoff, and other relevant details.
