JEE Main 2023 Session 2 Live Updates: April 8 Exam TODAY, April 6 Question Paper, Answer Key Available

Candidates can check the official marking scheme according to the JEE Main 2023 exam pattern given below. Using the marking scheme and answer key, the candidates will be able to calculate their probable secured scores before the JEE Main 2023 result is announced.

The category-wise passing marks to qualify JEE Mains January 2023 will be announced by the NTA after the completion of the session 2 exam. The NTA will publish the separate JEE Main cut-off marks for the General category, EWS category, OBC-NCL, SC and ST category candidates.

The National Testing Agency has not mentioned any specific dress code for JEE Mains 2023. However, candidates are suggested to wear socks, plain pullover, sweaters, cardigans, ankle shoes, low heel shoes or sandals and to coordinate with invigilators during the frisking process. Candidates should also avoid carrying any barred items at the examination centre.

There are a total of 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 19 other GFTIs that participate in JoSAA counselling. Other institutes which offer admission based on JEE Main scores are from the states which do not conduct their entrance exams for engineering admission and include U.P., Bihar, M.P., Delhi, among others.

National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination conducting authority assigns the JEE Main 2023 exam locations. NTA is conducting the exam in 330 cities in India and 15 cities outside India. Candidates had to choose from a list of JEE Main 2023 exam centres given by NTA at the time of filling the application form. It is advised that the candidate choose a centre that is most close to their home. JEE Main exam centres are there in India and abroad. Information on the exam centre, examination timings, and other guidelines to be followed on examination day are included in the JEE Main admit card.

NTA has released the JEE Main 2023 April 10 admit card 2023. Candidates can download the admit card online from thee website jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and date of birth.

National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Main 2023 April 8 exam tomorrow. The exam will be held in two shifts, shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.  

NTA has released JEE Main session 2 city intimation slip. Candidates can check their JEE Main exam date 2023 session 2 and city of the exam through city intimation slip. JEE Main city allotment slip 2023 session 2 can be download from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates must note that JEE city intimation slip is different from the admit card. NTA released city intimation slip for all exam dates for all the registered candidates to know their exam date and city. However, admit cards are being released separately for all exam dates.

Admit card of JEE Main 2023 session 2 is available online on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can download their admit card with the help of below-mentioned steps

• Login using your application number and date of birth
• Admit card will be displayed on screen
• Check and verify all the details mentioned on the admit card

NTA is conducting the JEE Main 2023 session 2 exam on April 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 for BE/BTech, BArch and BPlan course admission. The exam will be held in around 330 cities across the country and 15 cities outside India. NTA JEE Mains 2023 exam will be conducted online as a computer based test. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

NTA will conduct the second day of JEE Main 2023 session 2 exam tomorrow. The exam will be held in two shifts from 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm at 330 exam cities in India and 15 cities outside India. 

Chemistry

The paper was by and large based on NCERT books. Numerical were on lower side even in Physical Chemistry and many questions were theoretical in nature. Overall, the questions from Physical, Organic and Inorganic branches were more or less evenly distributed. Questions from prominent chapters like p-block, Coordination, Biomolecules, Alcohol, Phenol and Ether, Chemical bonding and Aldehyde, Ketone and Carboxylic Acids were asked. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform. Qualitative Analysis, d-block and p-block had weightage in the paper. A thorough study of the NCERT books and mock tests based on NCERT is the guarantee of success in these type of tests. According to students, XII chemistry had more weightage on paper.

Physics

According to a sizeable number of students, Physics part was of easy level. Questions from Mechanics, Current electricity, Semiconductors and Modern Physics were duly represented in the paper. Two questions from Modern Physics and two questions current electricity were there in the paper. Other chapters were also included in due proportions. There were a good number of numerical which were largely formula based. According to students XI and XII Physics had almost equal weightage in paper. PYQ were also there in paper. Solving a good number of mock tests would prove to be an effective strategy.

Mathematics

Mathematics paper was moderate but slightly time taking due to lengthy calculations involved. A few good questions were interspersed sporadically. Questions were asked from Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Vectors & 3D and from Algebra were there. Vector and 3D were dominant in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered. Again, practice through mock tests holds the key.

Overall, it was a balanced paper which can be solved in the stipulated time. Average students found Mathematics difficult. The difficulty level wise order according to a large section of students is

Mathematics > Chemistry > Physics

NTA will release the JEE Main 2023 session 2 statistics along with the declaration of the results. For JEE Main 2023 session 1, a total of 8.6 lakh candidates registered for the exam out of which 8.22 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. JEE Main 2023 session 1 attendance was 95.79%.

NTA is yet to release the official JEE Main 2023 April answer key date. However, various coaching institutes are releasing the JEE Main 2023 answer key by checking the memory-based questions.

• In Physics, questions were asked from electrostatics, laws of motion, modern physics, projectile motion, thermodynamics, etc.
• In Chemistry, questions were asked from biomolecules, polymers, mole concepts, aromatic compounds, block elements, etc.
• In Maths, questions were asked from Vectors & 3D, ITF, coordinate geometry, sets & functions, definite integration, limits, etc.

JEE Main 2023 answer key April 6 will be released soon by various coaching institutes as per the memory-based questions. NTA has not yet announced the official JEE Main 2023 answer key date.

Overall, JEE Main 2023 April 6 Shift 1 paper was of moderate difficulty. Most students found Mathematics to be moderately difficult and lengthy. However, Physics and Chemistry were easy. The paper was balanced and the questions from 11th and 12th syllabus was well divided. 

JEE Main 2023 question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Questions with Numerical Value Answer (NAV). The exam will be conducted in 13 languages as a computer-based test of 3 hours duration. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Candidates appearing in JEE Mains 2023 January 31 exam should follow the dress code as mentioned on the admit card. Candidates should wear lightweight clothes during the exam to ease frisking as well as make them comfortable to take JEE Main 2023 session 1 exam.

NTA will release the cut-off JEE Mains 2023 after the declaration of the result. JEE Main cutoff 2023 will be released separately for all the categories. Candidates will be able to check the JEE Main 2023 qualifying marks from the scorecard.

A total of 90 questions will be asked in JEE Main 2023 exam out of which candidates have to attempt 75 questions. There will be 30 questions from each Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates will have to attempt 25 questions from each section out of which 20 questions will be MCQ and 5 will be a numerical value type.

NTA has released the JEE Main 2023 admit card for April 8 exam at the official website. Candidates will have to carry their JEE Main admit card along with one valid photo ID proof. The candidates taking the JEE Mains 2023 exam must download and print all pages of JEE Mains 2023 admit card and self-declaration form. Other things aspirants are allowed to carry in the exam hall:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will conduct the JEE Advanced 2023 exam on June 4. Registration for the exam will start on April 30. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates in order of merit in Common Rank List of JEE Main 2023 will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2023 exam.

There will be negative markings for numerical value type questions. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner:
i. Correct Answer: Four marks ( 4)
ii. Incorrect Answer: Minus one mark (-1)
iii. Unanswered/Marked for Review: No mark (0).
iv. If a question is found to be incorrect or the Question is dropped then Four marks ( 4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.
v. Candidates are advised to do the calculations with the constants given (if any) in the questions. The answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

A score of 200 out of 300 in JEE Mains is definitely a good score. However, candidates aiming at top NITs/IIITs should target more to get admission on the basis of JEE Main 2023 All India Rank.

Coaching institutes have released JEE Main April 6 shift 1 and 2 question papers with answer key and solutions. The official JEE Main question papers 2023 will be available a few days after the exam. NTA will display the Provisional JEE Main 2023 Answer Key of the questions on the NTA website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. An opportunity will be given to the candidates to challenge the Provisional Answer Keys with a nonrefundable online payment of ₹ 200/- per question challenged as processing charges. The provisional Answer Keys are likely to be displayed for two to three days after the exam is over.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has relaxed the 75 percent eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2023 exam. As per the official notification, aspirants who have scored 75% marks or are in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 of any education board will be eligible to seek admission to the NITs and IITs and to appear for JEE Advanced 2023.
