Candidates have to carry the below items:

• Self-Declaration Undertaking: Candidates will have to carry a printed copy of the self-declaration undertaking, which is a part of admit card downloaded from NTA’s website

• Sanitiser: Candidates have to carry a 50 ml sanitiser bottle

• Ball Point Pen: This time candidates have to carry a ballpoint pen to the exam hall

• Photograph: Candidates are also requested to carry one passport-size photograph to the test centre. This should be the same as uploaded while filling the online application form. The photograph needs to be pasted on a specific space in the attendance sheet at the examination hall

• Transparent Water Bottle: Candidates have to carry one transparent water bottle

• Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired) –

  • PAN card

  • Driving license

  • Voter ID

  • Passport

  • Aadhaar Card (with the photograph)

  • Aadhaar enrolment number/Ration card

NTA has issued detailed guidelines for JEE Mains dress code 2024 in the admit card. Candidates appearing in the exam need to follow all the JEE Mains 2024 dress code instructions. Following is the list of items prohibited as a part of the dress code for JEE Mains 2024.

• Candidates must not wear any cloth having metallic items.

• Candidates are not allowed to wear a cap/ muffler or any cloth over their heads.

• Wearing any kind of jewelry or ornaments is strictly prohibited.

• Candidates must not wear goggles, rings, bracelets, or any of such items.

• JEE Main aspirants will not be allowed to carry any item other than those mentioned on the admit card.

• Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination room

• Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of the sheet and return the sheets and admit card to the Invigilator, before leaving the examination hall

• Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits and transparent water bottles to the examination hall/room. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwiches, etc.

• Candidates will have to sit on the seat allocated to them

• Candidates will be allowed to appear at the allotted venue of the test only

• Wearing a watch inside the exam hall is not allowed

• No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre once the exam starts

• Candidates without an admit card will not be allowed to appear for the exam

• Leaving the exam hall before closure/end of the exam is not permitted

• Request for change in JEE Main 2024 exam centres will not be entertained

NTA will release the official answer key foe JEE Main 2024 very soon, tentatively on February 2.

The NTA will announce JEE Main 2024 Cutoff along with the declaration of the result of the session 2 (April ) exam. JEE Main cutoff 2024 can be checked here to know the minimum score a candidate should have to qualify for the JEE Advanced. This year the cutoff is expected to rise as the exam easy on January 27. But the cutoff will be dependent on the exams of all shifts and both sessions. Thus, it is too early to predict the cutoff.

As per the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), students appearing for JEE Main 2024 exams are required to carry their self-declaration form on the day of the exam along with other necessary documents. It is to be noted that the JEE Main exam for January 29 is set to commence tomorrow.

The total mark for JEE Mains is 300 Marks.

JEE Main hall ticket download link 2024 is active on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates can login using their application number and date of birth to download the admit card.

JEE Main 2024 result will be out on February 12 for the January session.

JEE Main session 2 registration will start on February 2, 2024.

• Candidates must carry their JEE Main session 1 admit card (a clear, preferably colour printout on A4 size paper)
• They must carry one passport-size photograph (same as uploaded with the application form) to be pasted on the attendance sheet
• A valid Photo ID Proof original (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E- Aadhaar/Ration Card/12th Class admit card 
• PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under the PwD category
• If a candidate goes for bio-break /toilet, they should undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again
• Blank paper sheets for rough work of A4 size will be provided. Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of each of the sheets.
• They must drop the sheets in the designated drop box without fail, before leaving the exam hall
• The candidate should ensure that the question paper available on the computer screen is as per their opted subject/medium. In case, the subject/medium of the question paper is other than their opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned
• For the Drawing Test - Part III of B.Arch., they must bring their own Geometry Box Set, Pencils, Erasers, and Colour Pencils or Crayons. They are not allowed to use watercolours on the drawing sheet

NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2024 January day 2 exam on January 29, tomorrow in 2 shifts. Shift 1 will start at 9 am and the shift 2 will start at 3 pm. There is no exam today.

As per the experts, the JEE Main 2024 cutoff may go up as the questions were easy in January 27 shift 1 exam. However, candidates must wait for the analysis of the complete exam. JEE Main 2024 cutoff will be decided by NTA after the exam is over in both the sessions - January and April. The cutoff will be released with the final JEE Main 2024 result after the April session exam is over.

Chemistry - Easy. Organic Chemistry had more questions as compared to Inorganic & Physical Chemistry. Some good questions from Colloids, GOC, Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Biomolecules, Phenol & Ethers, Aryl & Alkyl Halides mixed concept questions, Mole Concept, Electrochemistry, d-block elements. Mostly NCERT fact-based questions asked which made it Easy for students. 

Physics – Easy. Questions asked from almost all chapters. Some good questions from chapters of Kinematics, Heat & Thermodynamics, Sound & waves, Rotational Motion, Optics, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Atoms & Nuclei. Numerical based questions were Easy. This section was balanced and Easy.

Mathematics – Easy. Weightage was given to chapters of Coordinate Geometry and Calculus. Questions from Circle, Ellipse & Hyperbola, Functions, Limits & Continuity, Differentiability, Differential Equations, Definite Integral, Differential Equations, Permutation & Combination, Binomial Theorem, Progressions, Statistics, Matrices & Determinants, Probability & Vectors. The numerical based section had lengthy calculations but was Easy.

Physics: The physics part was of moderate to difficult level as some good assertion-reasoning questions were there. Questions from Modern Physics, Work Power and Energy, Fluids and Thermodynamics were there in the paper. Most of the questions were asked from the 12th class syllabus. If somebody has gone through the PYQs of the previous year's papers, he/she will have an upper hand in the paper.

Mathematics: The mathematics paper was moderate to difficult just like the Shift-1 paper. Questions from Algebra were dominant in the paper. A good number of questions were asked from Vectors, 3D and Limits, Continuity and Differentiability. Questions from Integration and Matrix and Determinants were there in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered.

Chemistry: The paper was by and large based on NCERT books. Very few questions in this shift were asked from Organic chemistry. Most of the questions were from the Physical Chemistry part. 2-3 questions were asked from d-block elements. Questions from prominent chapters like Thermodynamics, Bonding Alkyl and Aryl halides were asked. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform.

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2024 Result date session 1. As per the schedule, NTA will declare the JEE Main Result 2024 on February 12. Candidates need to use JEE Mains Result login at jeemain.nta.ac.in using their application number and password/date of birth to check their JEE Main session 1 result 2024. Along with the result, NTA has will also announce percentile score of candidates in each subject and aggregate.
