NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, NLU Odisha (NLUO) ranks #26 under the category 'Law'.
National Law University Odisha, Cuttack admissions 2026 are open. A few more updates are given below:
- The CLAT 2026 PG seat allotment results for admission to the PG-level LLM programme have been released for the fifth and final round.
- The CLAT 2026 fifth and final merit list for admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (UG) courses is now released. Students must pay the confirmation fee by May 25, 2026, to freeze their allotted seats.
NLUO Highlights 2025
National Law University Odisha is one of the newly established University among 23 NLUs. It is a state-level university that is UGC recognised and a member of the AIU. It is accredited with an “A” Grade by NAAC. The University offers UG, PG and doctorate courses in Law. You can pursue BA LLB Hons, BBA LLB Hons, LLM, PhD and MPhil at NLUO. All courses are Bar Council of India recognised. Every year, NLUO admits approximately 250 students under all UG, PG and PhD programmes.

For admission to BBA LLB course at NLU Odisha candidates have to register through CLAT portal. Registered candidates for CLAT counselling will be called by NLU Odisha through multiple provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. NLUO Scholarships 2025
The University offers a merit-based scholarship for UG students. This scholarship is offered on the basis of scores obtained in the qualifying exam. Details regarding National Law University, Odisha scholarship are mentioned below:
- NLUO Undergraduate Scholarship: Under this scholarship, candidates are awarded with a scholarship of Rs 1 lakh. The annual family income of the student should be less than Rs 5 lakh, and a candidate must have secured at least 60 per cent aggregate in HSC, to be eligible for this scholarship.

At present, the University offers six basic courses. These are BA LLB Hons, BBA LLB Hons, LLM, PhD, MPhil and BVoc. It also offers PhD in full-time and part-time mode. The minimum duration of full-time PhD programme is three years, whereas MPhil has a minimum duration of two years. NLU Odisha accepts the CLAT cutoff ranks for admission to the LLM and the BA LLB (Hon) course. The NLU Odisha CLAT cutoff 2026 was released for all categories under the All India quota till round 2.

NLU Odisha offers a total of 120 seats for the BA LLB course. Among these, 25% seats are reserved for General, ST & SC students, and under 5% seats are reserved for Specially Abled Persons (SAP) at the all India level according to the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
