BSc nursing entrance exams 2026 will be held soon for admission to the undergraduate nursing courses. Admission to the top government/state/private nursing colleges will be granted through a counselling process, which will be held on the basis of the merit secured either in Class 12 or in the entrance exam. The BSc nursing entrance exams are conducted by several prestigious institutes and organisations to screen deserving candidates willing to join the nursing profession. Enrolling for the BSc nursing entrance exam after the Class 12 exam is considered a lucrative option by both male and female candidates. On the contrary, several state nursing institutes don't allow men to enroll in the nursing profession.

Candidates who aspire to make their career in the field of Nursing are advised to carefully read the list of popular entrance exams mentioned below. BSc nursing as a career option is open to students after passing class 12. Candidates can pursue programmes ranging from the UG and PG levels, such as:

To start with, the BSc Nursing course, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, is an in-demand career option to pursue right after completing Class 12. A four-year professional course that requires a minimum eligibility criteria of an applicant to have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the mandatory subjects. Several BSc nursing entrance exams will be held between March and July in 2026.

The next programme is BSc (Post-Basic) Nursing, a two-year-long programme designed to enhance the nursing skills of professionals with a background in nursing or a similar field. Thus, Post-Basic BSc Nursing is more of a specialisation course in nursing. The aspirants should have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects along with a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and should be Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM).

At the Master's level, candidates can pursue an MSc Nursing course to have a core specialisation in the branch of their interest, such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Cardio-Thoracic Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Operating Room Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Dialysis Technology, and Neonatal Nursing. Interested candidates should be a BSc/BSc (Hons) graduate in Nursing from a recognised university to pursue the programme.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   Does PGIMER accept NEET score?
A:

As per resources and information availaible, the initial entrance exam which is accepted by PGIMER Chandigarh for admission is INI CET. There may be a chance that NEET-PG is also conisdered for admission but INI CET is the considered for admission to majority of the courses. Other than this, PGIMER also conducts its own entrance exam for admission to various courses. So basically you have to score a good marks in NEET PG. I repeat NEET PG it isn't NEET (UG) . If you score a good marks in the NEET PG then you can apply here very easily and also you will be able to sit for the PGIMER official ENTRANCE test.

Q:   Can I get B.Sc at PGIMER with 75 percentile in NEET?
A:

Well, to get a decent government medical college, your NEET marks should be above 600 if you are a General candidate.

You can get colleges even if your mark is around 580 or so, but you can't expect your college campus and facilities to be top notch.

And one thing PGIMER is for doing your Masters degree not undergraduate degree .

You got to focus on all the three subjects, especially Physics. Physics is what really makes the difference coz almost every bio student is good at bio, so certainly that won't keep you offbeat with your other competitors. As chemistry is concerned, it's comparatively easy. So make sure you got to secure around 140 in physics, Around 160 in chemistry and 340 in Biology for a decent rank.
