Compulsory in nature: TET exam is compulsory or mandatory in almost all states as it defines the eligibility of candidates to become teachers in India. 

Central and State TET exams: CTET is the central TET exam conducted by CBSE and is accepted by almost all the states/ UTs. On the other hand, some states organise their own TET exams, such as UPTET, Bihar STET, Maha TET, REET, KARTET, TS TET, AP TET, etc.

TNTET 2025: TRB released the TNTET notification on August 11, 2025. The last date to apply online was September 10.

KARTET 2025: The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) is likely to be conducted in November 2025.

TS TET 2025: The Telangana State Teachers Eligibility Test (TSTET) was held from June 18 to 30, 2025. The TSTET results have been released.

CTET 2025

The CBSE CTET 2025 notification will be released soon for the conduct of the 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The CTET application form 2025 will be available along with the notification.

MAHA TET 2025

The MAHA TET exam will be held on November 23, 2025. The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) released the MAHATET notification 2025 on September 13 2025, at mahatet.in. The MAHA TET application form 2025 is available from September 15 to October 9. The MAHA TET result 2025 will be announced based on the MAHA TET final answer key.  

TNTET 2025

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) released the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2025 notification on August 11, 2025. The TNTET exam will be held on November 1 and 2, 2025.

TS TET 2025

The TS TET results 2025 has been released. The TS TET 2025 exam was held from June 18 to 30, 2025. The TG TET exam will be organised online in the CBT mode. The TS TET or TG TET application form 2025 was available from April 15 to 30, 2025. 

UPTET 2025

UPTET Notification 2025 will be released soon on the official website. UPTET exam is scheduled to be held on January 29 and 30, 2026. The UPTET exam will be conducted for two papers

REET 2025

The REET certificate 2025 was released on June 27, 2025. The REET result 2025 was out on May 8, 2025. The RBSE released the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Examination (REET) 2025 final answer key for level 1 and level 2 along with the results. 

JTET 2025: Jharkhand TET 2025

The JTET 2025 notification will be released soon on the official website—https://www.jactetportal.com/. The JTET application form 2025 will be available with the notification. The Jharkhand TET exam will be conducted soon. 

AP TET 2025

The AP TET notification 2025 will be released soon as a PDF download file at aptet.apcfss.in. The AP TET application form 2025 will be released online.

Assam TET Cancelled 

Assam Education Minister informed that the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test has been cancelled for two years. The reason behind the cancellation is the sufficient number of TET-qualified candidates in Assam. Further, the education minister added that though there will be no TET exam for the next two years but the teacher recruitment exams will be conducted to recruit the teacher in lower primary (LP) and upper primary (UP) schools of Assam.

TET Notification 2025

TET 2025 Eligibility criteria

To appear for the TET 2025, candidates should fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria comprising the educational qualification and age limit. The TET eligibility criteria differ from state to state. However, the basic criteria remain the same that candidates need to fulfil to appear for a TET. The basic eligibility criteria are:

  • Candidates should be class 12 passed or a graduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 per cent marks
  • Candidates should have obtained a Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or completed any other prescribed teacher training program/course
  • Candidates should be a of minimum 18 years of age
  • There is no upper age limit for CTET and various TET exams

TET Selection Process 2025

TET Syllabus 2025 is one of the most searched queries. Candidates who look forward to appearing for the TET 2025 examination search for the appropriate Syllabus and topics. TET Exam Pattern 2025

The TET exam pattern 2025 usually contains 150 objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 150 marks. The time duration given to complete a TET paper is typically 150 minutes (two and a half hours).

The TET exam pattern is prescribed by the respective exam authorities or state governments. Most of the TETs share similar exam patterns. 

How to prepare for TET 2025?

To prepare for the TET exam, candidates should be familiar with the exam pattern and Syllabus of the TET exam prescribed officially by the exam conducting body. The teacher eligibility tests typically consist of two papers 1 and 2. Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who plan to teach classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is conducted for candidates who plan to teach classes 6 to 8. The TET question paper varies as per the subject chosen by a candidate. TET Result 2025: Applicability

Every year, lakhs of aspirants from different parts of the country appear for TETs to obtain eligibility for teacher recruitment to the following posts:

  • Primary Teachers (PRTs): For Classes 1-5
  • Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs): For Classes 6-8
  • Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs): For Classes 9-12

Candidates who seek to become primary teachers for classes 1 to 5 appear for Paper 1 under the respective TET exam and candidates who want to teach classes 6 to 8 appear for Paper 2 exam. However, the TET exam and teaching post level may differ as per rules prescribed by respective state governments. 

It may be noted here that merely qualifying for the CTET or TET exam does not guarantee the appointment of candidates as teachers in schools. However, once qualified, candidates only get eligible to apply for teaching jobs. Candidates need to undergo the entire recruitment process of the school in which they want to get recruited.

TET Qualifying Marks 2025 for General/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ Misc

TET Result: Validity of Certificate

Candidates who qualify for the exam are awarded the TET eligibility certificate. The TET certificate is now valid for life. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) extended the TET certificate validity to a lifetime in June 2021. Candidates who qualify for the TET exam once and obtain the certificate can now apply for teacher recruitment until they fulfill the school's prescribed eligibility criteria.
