In order to get recruited as a teacher or lecturer, a candidate needs to be eligible and qualify the required eligibility tests. To become a teacher in central or state government schools, candidates need to qualify the CTET 2022 or TET 2022. While the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted at the national level, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted by the states. On the other hand, candidates need to qualify the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) for lecturership or Assistant Professor post.

Kerala SET Selection Process 2025; 1- Fill Kerala State Eligibility Test application form: Candidates need to apply for the Kerala State Eligibility Test application form on the official website of the test. All students need to submit their application form and pay the fee to receive the Site Access Key as well as the Application Number. 2- Download Kerala State Eligibility Test admit card: Students need to download the Kerala State Eligibility Test admit card from the official website of the exam. To download the Kerala State Eligibility Test admit card, students need to fill in details such as their-Application Number and Date of Birth/Site Access Key. 3- Appear for Kerala State Eligibility Test: Students need to appear for the Kerala State Eligibility Test exam as per the time and test center details mentioned in their admit card. Kerala State Eligibility Test comprises two test papers which are of 120 minutes each. Paper 1 is common for all aspirants whereas Paper 2 consists of questions as per the student's specialisation. 4- Check Kerala State Eligibility Test result: Exam results for the Kerala State Eligibility Test are announced on the official website of the teacher eligibility test. Students can check the Kerala State Eligibility Test result by filling in their application number and date of birth/site access key. NET is an exam conducted at the national level to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and/or the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). SET for Assistant Professor

Various states organise the State Eligibility Tests (SET) every year to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor or to pursue research in the colleges and universities of a particular state. The SET exams are conducted at the state level. Candidates qualifying the SET exam get eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor in the respective Indian state.

Note: While a majority of SETs are conducted for eligibility of Assistant Professors, Kerala SET is conducted for Higher Secondary School Teachers and Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE.

The CBSE conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for determining the eligibility of candidates for classes 1 to 8 teachers. On the other hand, state authorities conduct the state TETs to determine the eligibility of candidates for classes 1 to 8 teachers. Moreover, various state TET exams are conducted for classes 9 to 12 teachers and for language teachers.
