AP TET eligibility criteria 2025 is provided here in detail for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates can know the eligibility in terms of educational qualification and age limit. The basic eligibility for AP TET Paper 1 is an Intermediate /Senior Secondary pass with a minimum of 50% marks along with the 4-years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) and for APTET Paper 2 is Graduation with 50% marks and BEd.

The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, is going to hold the APTET October 2025 session exam from December 10. The online applications for the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) are being invited. Candidates who want to appear for the exam need to fill out the AP TET application form 2025. Before taking the registrations, one must go through the detailed eligibility criteria. The AP TET eligibility 2025 is different for Paper 1 Part A, Paper 1 Part B, Paper 2 Part A and Paper 2 Part B. Q:   Who is eligible for APTET 2025?
A:

Candidates need to be eligible to appear for the APTET 2025 exam. The Andhra Pradesh TET eligibility criteria 2025 is different for Paper 1 (Part A & B) and Paper 2 (Part A & B). Have a look at the basic eligibility conditions below:

APTET Paper 1 Eligibility: 

  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BelEd) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education (BEd) OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated BEd/ MEd

AP TET Paper 2 Eligibility:

  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary and two year DEd Special Education in any of the categories of disability or one-year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any of the categories of disability OR
  • Diploma in Community-Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs 
Q:   What are the qualifying marks for APTET?
A:
Open category candidates should score 60 per cent or above marks in the exam to be considered as APTET pass, BC category candidates need to obtain 50 per cent marks and SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-servicemen need to obtain 40 per cent marks. The candidates securing the prescribed or more marks will be considered qualified.

The APTET eligibility criteria 2025 differ for Paper 1 A & B (Classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 A & B (Classes 6 to 8). Have a look detailed eligibility criteria below:

AP TET Age Limit 2025

There is no age limit to appear in the APTET 2025 exam. If a candidate fulfils the educational qualification criteria then he/she can appear for the Andhra Pradesh TET exam.

AP TET Eligibility 2025 for Paper 1: Educational Qualifications for Paper 1 Part A (Classes 1 to 5):

  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 45 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BelEd) OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and Bachelor of Education (BEd) OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated BEd/ MEd

AP TET Eligibility 2025 for Paper 1: Educational Qualification for Paper 1 Part B (Classes 1 to 5) (Special Schools): RCI Qualifications Elementary:-

  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary and two-year DEd Special Education in any of the categories of disability OR
  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary and one-year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any of the categories of disability OR
  • Diploma in Community-Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf OR
  • Primary level Teacher Training course in Visual Impairment OR
  • Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation – Mental Retardation (DVR-MR) / Diploma in Vocational Training and Employment – Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary passed with any RCI recognized qualification of minimum one-year duration and 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs

AP TET Eligibility 2025 for Paper 2: APTET Educational Qualification for Paper 2 Part A (Classes 6 to 8)

Mathematics and Science Teachers/ Social Studies Teachers/ Language Teachers

  • At least 50 per cent marks either in Graduation/ Post Graduation with BEd OR
  • Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and 1 year Bachelor of Education in accordance with the NCTE OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEIEd) OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year BA/ BScEd or BAEd/ BScEd OR
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and 1 year BEd (Special Education) OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three years of integrated BEd-MEd

Note: The minimum percentage of marks in graduation will not be applicable to those who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education prior to July 29, 2011. The relaxation of up to 5 per cent in the qualifying marks will be allowed to the SC/ ST/ BC/ PH.

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Language Teachers (Classes 6 to 8):

  • Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (or) Graduation in Literature (or) Post Graduation in Language concerned and Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers

AP TET Eligibility 2025 for Paper 2: AP TET Educational Qualifications For Paper 2 Part B (Special Schools) RCI Qualifications Secondary

  • Graduate with BEd (Special Education)/ BEd (General) with one-year Diploma in Special Education / BEd (General) with two years Diploma in Special Education OR
  • BEd (General) with Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGDC) / PG Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation) / PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disability: Physical & Neurological) / PG Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy) / Secondary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment / Senior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf / BA B.Ed. in Visual impairment

Q:   What is the age limit for Andhra Pradesh TET?
A:

Candidates should be of 18 years to apply for the Andhra Pradesh TET exam. There is no limit on upper age. One must read the notification before submitting the applications

Q:   Who is eligible for the TET Exam in AP?
A:

Candidates who fulfill the Andhra Pradesh TET eligibility criteria including the age limit and educational qualification are eligibile for the TET exam in Andhra Pradesh (AP). Have a look at the basic APTET eligibility for Paper 1 and Paper 2 below:

  • AP TET Paper 1: Intermediate /Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks along with Diploma in Elementary Education
  • APTET Paper 2: Graduation with 50% marks and BEd.

There is no age limit to appear for the Teacher Eligibility Test in AP.
