If you want to study the BTech Chemical Engg. course, you should have at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM subjects in Class 12 board exams. Further, you need to give relevant entrance tests for getting a seat at a top-ranked college.
There are several colleges that also give admission on the basis of Class 12 board exam marks for which you need to check the college websites of the institutions you're targeting for accurate info. Interestingly, if you have a 3 year Diploma in Chemical Engg or a related field with 50% marks you are also eligible for lateral entry admission into the 2nd year of the BTech Chemical Engineering course.

The duration of the BTech Chemical Engg. course is 4 years in India. Most of the time the span for BTech courses is 4 years in India, except for the integrated BTech-MTech courses that are 5 years long. During the entire course duration, you will get a strong foundation in the Chemical Engineering field through theory classes and practical lab work, which will help you go a long way in your career in the future.
