The JEE Advanced is not only for admission into IITs but also for other reputed colleges like IISC Bangalore, IIST (Indian Institute of Space Technology), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, etc.

JEE Advanced is an examination for admission into the undergraduate programmes in IITs, IISCs, IIEST, etc. To get admission for B.Tch in IITs, your rank should be atleast below 5000 (for general category).
With Mains, you can get admission into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

No, this is not possible. If all 11,000 students get into IITs then you cannot get any IIT as there will be a total of around 10000 seats only.
So you need to try for IISC, IIEST, etc.

From this year HBTi is taking admission via JEE Mains, so we are also not aware of the exact cutoff, however, since it is a govt. college the cutoff must be high so you need to score well in JEE Mains to get admission there.

But in 2017, many prestigious institutes in India changed their intake system from state-level exams to JEE.
For example, HBTI used to offer admissions through UPTU but from 2017 admission will be based on JEE Mains. S, it is not going to happen in 2018, but in upcoming years there will be only one exam, JEE.
