It's not just a college but second home.

Placements: The placement percentage based on 2024 data is around 64.% It is a decent percentage as many of the students opt for further studies and other streams other than campus placements. SDE is the top role and is more beneficial for CSE and MNC students. Other branch students can have core placements too as per their interests.

Infrastructure: There is college Wi-Fi overall campus except hostels. There is Wi-Fi in each room inside the hostels. The network quality is really good. Medical facilities are very good and are available 24 hours including ambulance facility. There are courts for every sport and well-maintained by the gymkhana.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and always open to any kind of issues. The frequency of exams is manageable. The difficulty of exam is dependent on the course instructor. Some are really strict but mostly are good. They connect real-life problems with the subject which makes students focus more.

Other: I opted for this course as I was interested in maths in my 12th grade. The college is really good and the course too. Fests and events are next level. Everyone is friendly in their own way.

Speaking about IITG, it's one of the greatest experiences that could happen to you.

Placements: 70% of students got placed. Packages offered are 1.5 crores per annum to 15 LPA. Recruiting companies are Oracle, Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Ebullient, Alphagrep, American Express, BCG, BNY, etc. 40% of students got a proper internship in one of the above companies rest get into other on-campus or off-campus internships. Top roles offered are software developer, finance market analyst, and other finance jobs, consultant, etc.

Infrastructure: All departments are equipped with Wi-Fi and air-conditioned lab except for experiential labs. Libraries are all clean, hygienic, and fully air-conditioned. Food in hostel is average but you get a lot of other options with different food outlets and canteens. Sports and TV rooms are mandatory in each hostel. Periodic sports, cultural, and tech events are very common.

Faculty: Teachers are very passionate about their course and very helpful as well, almost all of them have studied abroad or achieved in some competitive examination, thus setting the bar pretty high. Course curriculum is very relevant to the core but for non-core one might have to invest some extra time. Some courses are tough others are easy but most of them have relatively grading thus making passing easy.

Other: College can improve student life by limiting professors' power and giving more autonomy to students making courses less laborious. IITG hosts the biggest fest in Northeast India, called Alcheringa, which gets a minimum football of around 150K. You get to see the diverse rich culture of Northeast India, with a touch of modernity. The same goes with others such as Techniche and Spirit. Scholarships are widely available for backward classes and girls.

IIT Guwahati has good placements and infrastructure.

Placements: Around 90% of students in our course got places. The average salary package offered is 37 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 1 crore per annum. Top recruiting companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, JPMC, Goldman Sachs, Oracle, etc., visit the college for placements. Around 60% of students got internships from our batch.

Infrastructure: Our college has a top-notch infrastructure for its courses. It has excellent Wi-Fi connectivity throughout. There is high-speed internet in classrooms, labs, hostels, etc. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with smart boards, projectors, and air-conditioners. The library is well-stocked with textbooks, journals, research papers, and e-resources. Hostel rooms are furnished with basic amenities like beds, tables, chairs, wardrobes, and high-speed LAN. A mess serves with options for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, etc.

Faculty: Faculty members are very good and approachable. The course curriculum is well-structured and a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. We have two main exams which are mid-semester and end-semester exams, other than that most evaluation is done through quizzes, assignments, etc.

Modern campus with excellent infrastructure. Faculty is very good.

Placements: IIT GUWAHATI has one of the best placement ratios amongst all IITs. And amazingly, my branch is the highest percentage-wise placed in IIT Guwahati. 95 percent of students in the Mathematics and Computing branch were placed last year, while 90 percent of Computer Science students were placed.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure here are okay, not the best. For Wi-Fi, we have to use our ID and password every time, which is pretty annoying. Labs are very good, and they have all the machinery that is needed. IIT GUWAHATI has the biggest library in the Northeast.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. But despite that, their teaching quality is not as good as it should be. Except for some professors, others' way of teaching is pretty boring. The semester exams are not much difficult; they are according to what was taught in class.

A great hard course with great placement. Next CSE branch potential, hard to get admission.

Placements: This is relatively a new branch but has a great scope of placements and internships. In recent years, good amount of students have secured their early internships and placements from this branch. It is comparable to Computer Science engineering and foster's a potential of being the Next pumped-up sector and branch.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is really beautiful and is surely a beauty. You can roam around the campus without getting bored and still be in awe. The hostel infrastructure although might not be that great but still it is good enough to spend a great campus life with your friends .

Faculty: The curriculum is updated as it is a new branch and can foster the needs of current world in job profiles. It provides all the necessary skills for a Computer Science student is expected to have with additional benefit of algorithm designing and knowledge of finance .

Other: It's hard to get into this branch as there is tough competition during the process of admission and even the course becomes hard in further coming years, making it hard to score marks.
