Yes, with a 54k rank in JEE Mains with a valid EWS certificate, you can definitely get any college through JoSAA counselling. Although it is difficult to predict the college, but the probabilities of getting a decent college with your score are very high. You can register by visiting the official website of JoSAA and fill your choice and preferences along with your score card. You'll be allotted your seat based on your score and preferences followed by counselling rounds and documents verification.

If you are unable to find your Category certificate during JoSAA Counselling then you can change your Category to general any time.  But after allotment of college during JoSAA Counselling, if your Category certificate is found invalid then your whole candidature will be canceled prohibiting you from joining any college alloted.

To get a government engineering college in Punjab through JoSAA, aim for a JEE Mains rank within 10,000–30,000 for top colleges like PEC and NIT Jalandhar. Rankings of 70,000 or higher may be adequate for state quotas or lower-tier universities, depending on the branch and category.

Yes. Birth certificate is needed to prove age in JoSAA counselling. But if you do not have the birth certificate, then you can upload Aadhaar card or Class 10 marksheet/certificate.

Yes. You can. Both counselling has different purpose. JoSAA is for admission to IIT and NIT+ system, while JAC Delhi is for admission to IIIT D, NSUT, DTU, DSEU, and IGDTUW. Admission via both JoSAA and JAC Delhi is based on JEE Main ranks.

The closing rank for NITs in the JEE Main exam varies by the category and the course. The cutoffs for NITs are released after each round of JoSAA counseling. The closing rank at NIT Delhi for the General AI category ranged from 8018 to 27045. B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most difficult course to get into. At NIT Agartala, the closing ranks for top specializations are expected to be between 16,289 and 32,958. At NIT Jalandhar, the cutoffs for 2024 were concluded after the release of the Round 6 Seat Allotment Result. Candidates should have a percentile between 85 to 95 to get NIT seats.
