There is no universal preference order list for JoSAA counseling. Instead, you are advised to provide a preference order on the basis of your requirements and JEE rank. Here are some useful tips to help you make a preference order list: (a) Check the previous year's opening and closing rank of the IIT, NIT, or IIIT you want to put in preference order. You can check it on the Shiksha website, which provides the closing rank of every IIT, NIT, IIIT, and GFTIS. (b) If you are confused between two colleges, prefer college having higher rank in NIRF. (c) If you are confused between two branches, then prefer a college with better placement f

According to the last year change in closing rank for last round, also JoSAA 2016 was very much similar to JoSAA 2017, So the following changes can be seen in the 7th round this year. NIT+System : Rank change of 5000 to 50000 can be seen for most of the NITs academic programme. There are some top institutes in which CSE, IT or ECE can have very less change. On the other hand lower ranked NITs may show changes up to 2000 ranks. IITSystem No such great change will occur in most of the institutes. You may SEE changes of 300 to 400 in branches like Chemical, Biotech, Geophysics etc. In some IITs. So large changes will occur in 7th round fo

JoSAA allocation of seats is based on CRL for Open (General) category of seats. For all other category of seats like GEN-EWS, GEN-PWD, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, etc. , seats are allotted based on the respective category rank. You may go through the Opening and Closing rank of Round 1 allocation of JoSAA 2020 available in the JoSAA portal for a better understanding.

First you should wait for the document verification process. But since you had freezed once verification done either they'll tell you to wait for 6th round or they can direct you for further processes of that particular college. Hope it helps.

JoSAA choices has been locked. So you can not go for JoSAA counselling. But you can think of CSAB once it starts after JoSAA in which only AIR is considered for counselling. Since your SC rank is this high then your AIR would have been too high so it's like very tough to get CSE/IT. Hope it helps.

As your JEE Mains rank is under 65,000 in general category, it is very tough, to get admission in top NIT and pursue B.Tech from it, so you should prepare for it again. But if your aim is just to get admission in NIT no matter which NIT and which branch, then you msy get admission in it. Like you may get NIT Agartala, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Goa, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Mizoram, but not any branch, some branch like chemical engineering, civil engineering, And if your domicile of state of these NIT, then you will get it, otherwise there is tough to get it.

At this rank you can get admission in many NIT, IIIT, you just have to wait till round 6,7 or even spot round if you want to get a good branch. In top NIT, IIIT you can't get CS with this rank but you can still try your luck in spot round. In NIT which don't come under top 5 you can get admission in ECE, EEE, civil and many more and if you have a Home State quota then you can surely get admission in 1 of the top 5 NIT. Just refer to the previous year cutoff from the respective NITs website you will get a much better idea about cutoffs.
