Basically, government colleges are not so updated. So, their placement (campusing) & class quality not so good as like private colleges because there are lots of Politics. But, in maximum private colleges there fee is quite high/expensive. But, now, you get all those benefits under Singhania University. 100% placement with the cheapest course fees. There is no Lateral Entry option in India but some of foreign universities offer lateral entry programme to direct 2nd year.
Lateral Entry option to MBBS for B.Sc-Nursing, BPT BHMS and B.A.M.S. Graduates.
Please cross check the MCI guidelines for the same at http://www.mciindia.org/
However, there are some universities in Eastern Europe and Philippines who do offer admission on lateral entry scheme after carefully examining the subjects and testimonials of aspirant's UG Degrees (B.Sc-Nursing, BPT BHMS and B.A.M.S. Into their universities.

Hello,
I think lateral entry into any engineering college in Maharashtra is restricted to those who have passed their diploma in Maharashtra. But perhaps window to study in Maharashtra is still open by way of admission to engineering colleges run by deemed to be university.
