Yes, it is possoble to take admission to an MBA at NIT Silchar without a valid CAT score. Besides CAT, the institute accepts exam scores of CMAT and MAT for MBA admission. Other criteria included in the selection process are listed below:
- Performance of the student in Class 10 (Weightage 10)
- Performance of the student in Class 12 (Weightage 10)
- Performance of the student in the Entrance Examination (CAT/MAT/CMAT) (Weightage 50)
- Performance in Personal Interview/GD/WAT (Weightage 30)

The following documents are required to be submitted during the MBA application process of NIT Silchar:
- Marks Sheets and certificates of all the examinations from Class 10 to the qualifying degree
- Proof of date of birth
- CAT/MAT/CMAT rank card with a valid score
- OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/EWS/PwD certificate, if applicable. (Candidate can download the prescribed format from the NIT
Silchar website)
Candidates should presents all of these original documents for verification at the time of GD/WAT and PI.

NIT Silchar MBA application process is completely online. Candidates willing to apply for MBA admission at NITS must visit the institute's official website. The 'MBA Admissions Application Form' is available on the Institute’s official website. Students must download and fill out the application form. A scanned copy of the duly filled application form and the required documents are to be uploaded to the online MBA admission portal available on the official website.
