Ph.D Eligibility

For BIT Mesra PhD admission, candidates must have passed a Master's degree in a relevant branch from a recognised University/ Institute with a minimum of 60% aggregate. 

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% to 70% aggregate or 6.0 to 7.0 CPI is the basic eligibility for the PhD programme offered at IIT Guwahati. Candidates with a four-year bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification with a minimum of 70% aggregate or 7.0 CPI can also apply. The aspirants must also hold the relevant documents as a proof of eligibility.

Admission to PhD is based on PhD entrance exam score.

 A candidate must have completed a master’s degree/ MPhil to apply for PhD course

Candidates seeking admission to PhD programme need to appear for KIITEE, an entrance exam conducted by KIIT University. Candidates with valid UGC-NET score can directly apply for PhD admission.

At least 55% aggregate in BTech/MTech or equivalent degree in appropriate branches, from a recognised university is the basic eligibility criteria for PhD in Alagappa College of Technology.
