UCLA does not have a specific GPA requirement for incoming freshman student athletes, while they are no minimum GPA for freshmen applicants. A 3.2 GPA is required for transfer applicants to be considered; however, a strong Academic record, including a high GPA still important for admission and for demonstrating Academic readiness for the university rigor.

UCLA has a wide and well-rated food programme with many choices. These comprise three buffet-style residential restaurants such as De Neve Dining, Bruin Plate and Epicuria at Covel that provide a variety of buffet-style foods. Also, there is a large number of fast-food and small restaurants like Bruin Caf, The Study at Hedrick, Rendezvous, FEAST at Rieber, The Drey, Bruin Bowl, and Epicuria at Ackerman where grab-and-go can be chosen. UCLA attributes as well to the sustainable, healthy, and worldwide-inspired dishes that satisfy many food requirements.
