Q:   What is the qualifying marks in the APEdCET entrance test?
A:

As per the official brochure, the qualifying marks in Andhra Pradesh EdCET (except for SC/ST category candidates) are 37 out of total marks. For SC/ST category candidates, there will be no qualifying marks for ranking. However, candidates can check the APEdCEt marking scheme as well here. In APEdCET exam, one mark is allotted for every correct answer in the exam. There is no negative for an incorrect answer in the exam.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for APEdCET 2025 exam?
A:

In order to apply for Andhra Pradesh EdCET exam, candidates were required to have passed the qualifying exam with minimum 50% marks. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria were supposed to fill the application form by visiting the official website of the exam. Candidates can check the APEdCET eligibility criteria as per educational qualification below:

Aspirants should have cleared/appeared for their final year examination for BA/ BSc/ BSc (Home Science)/ BCom/ BCA/ BBM at the time of APEdCET 2025 application form submission.


Aspirants should have secured at least 50 per cent marks either in the bachelor’s degree, that is, BA/ BSc/ BSc (Home Science)/ BCom/ BCA/ BBM and/ or in the master’s degree in relevant subject or in a five-year integrated course in the relevant subject or any other equivalent qualification. Candidates belonging to reserved categories, that is, SC, ST, BC and physically handicapped, are eligible to apply for the exam if they have secured at least 40 per cent marks in the qualifying examination.

Q:   Can candidates from other states also apply for Andhra Pradesh EDCET?
A:

No, candidates from other states cannot apply for the Andhra Pradesh EDECET 2025 exam. The Andhra Pradesh EDCET 2025 exam is conducted only for the students who have domicile in Andhra Pradesh and have resided in Andhra Pradesh for at least 10 years or candidates whose parents, or spouses are State/Central Government employees or working in Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Government owned Universities and other quasi-public institutions in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Generally, there are two types of BEd degrees, standalone and integrated. A standalone degree is of 2 years, while an integrated BEd degree is 4 years and is coupled with a BA or BSc. degree. As of now, there are no BEd courses available with a time duration of 1 year, however, it can be ascertained by past eligibility criteria that the minimum requirements to apply for 1 year BEd course in India are as follows - 

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com) from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Candidates applying for 1-year B.Ed. course may have prior teaching experience.
  • Generally, there is no specific age limit for admission to the B.Ed. course.

Admission Process for 1 Year B.Ed. Course in India

To get admission into BEd course in India students need to follow the admission process set by the respective universities and colleges - 

  • The first step is filling out the application form. Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria can apply in online or offline mode, depending on the institution's process. They must ensure that they have submitted all the necessary documents while applying.
  • After filling out the application form candidates will have to appear in the entrance exams which is conducted by the exam bodies. The entrance exams are conducted to shortlist candidates and the question paper is typically based on general knowledge, teaching aptitude, and the subject of specialization. However, not all the institutes conduct their entrance exam.
  • Based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam or academic performance, the exam body will release a merit list of selected candidates.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then be called for counseling sessions where they will have to verify their documents and pay admission fees to confirm their seats.
  • After all the steps are completed, candidates will be granted admission to B.Ed. program.
