AP PECET 2025: The exam conducting authority Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur released the notification of Andhra Pradesh Physical Education Common Entrance Test (AP PECET) 2025 on March 27, 2025. The AP PECET registrations have started from April 1, 20245 onwards, and will end on June 7, 2025. Students meeting the minimum eligibility criteria will be able to fill in the AP PECET application form till the last date. As per the exam date, the physical ability test will be conducted from June 23, 2025, onwards. Candidates who appear in the physical test will be able to check their AP PECET 2025 result by using their login credentials on the official website - cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/PECET. Q:   What are the qualifying marks in the Andhra Pradesh PECET?

The qualifying marks in the Andhra Pradesh PECET will be 30% of the aggregate marks obtained by the student in the actual test items which is the Physical Efficiency Test for 400 Marks and Skill Test in games for 100 Marks. There is no minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories.

What is AP PECET?

The AP PECET or Andhra Pradesh Physical Education Common Entrance Test is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur every year on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Q:   What is tie breaking method in Andhra Pradesh PECET?
A: 

To prepare the Andhra Pradesh PECET merit list, in case of more than one student scoring the same aggregate marks, the tie will be resolved to decide the relative ranking as follows:

Marks scored by candidates in the Physical efficiency test will be taken into consideration.  In case it is still a tie, marks scored by the candidate in Skill Test in games will be taken into consideration. In case of another, the Date of Birth of the candidate will be considered and the older candidates will be given preference on the basis of their age. In case of another tie, common rank will be given. At the time of admission, it will be resolved based on qualifying examination marks.

Q:   What is the Andhra Pradesh PECET Counselling?
A: 

The counselling process of Andhra Pradesh PECET is conducted after the results will be declared. The counseling will be conducted through a Web-based counseling process. Candidates will not be send individual admit cards for the same. Candidates final selection into the Andhra Pradesh PECET participating colleges will be done on the basis of their performance in the physical tests and the counselling process.

Once the results of the PET and Skill Tests are released the exam body will release the counselling schedule.

AP PECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

There are set eligibility parameters for the Physical Education entrance exam for both programs. The highlights for the same are given below:

Nationality: Candidates should be Indian citizens.

Native: Candidates should be a domicile of Andhra Pradesh only.

Education: The qualification requirements for B.P.Ed and D.P.Ed are -

  • B.P.Ed (2-year): Candidate should have completed or appeared in the final year of a 3-year degree program from any recognized university in Andhra Pradesh

  • D.P.Ed (2-year): Candidate should have completed intermediate or equivalent course recognized institute by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh

Age Limit: For BP.Ed, the candidate must have completed 19 years of age and for DP. Ed, he/ she must have completed 16 years of age.

Should have completed 19 years. For U.G.D.P.Ed - Candidates must pass their Intermediate or equivalent course by a recognised university in the Andhra Pradesh government. 

The minimum age limit of candidates must be 16 years and candidates who are in the final year exams of graduation or intermediate can also apply provided they will havbe to produce their pass certificate at the time of the counseling process.

Registration for the AP PECET exam is done via online mode only. Given below are the major stages included in the state-level entrance exam:

Stage 1: Registration for AP PECET

To access the application form, candidates must make the payment for the exam by visiting the official website. This stage includes 4 major steps – Fee Payment, Know the Payment Status, Fill Application Form, and Print Application Form.

  • Step 1: Fee Payment: The fee for AP PECET is stated as per the candidate’s category. The same has been tabulated below:

  • Step 2: Know your Payment Status: Here, one can know their status of registration and also download their hall ticket.

  • Step 3: Fill Application (only after Fee Payment): Start filling out the application here starting with ‘Candidate Details’, ‘Address’, ‘Details of Common Entrance Test’ and lastly, scan and upload the required documents as per the specifications.

  • Step 4: Print Application Form: After properly filling and thoroughly checking all the entered details, candidates can take a printout of the form for further correspondence.

Stage 2: Appearing for AP PECET Exam 2025

For the academic session 2025-22, the exam schedule is yet to be released. Until then, the candidate can go through the highlights of AP PECET Exam Pattern and Syllabus. Each year, the physical entrance exam is held in two parts i.e. (a) Physical Efficiency Test and (b) Skill Test in Game.

(a) Physical Efficiency Test

  • Maximum Marks: 400
  • Events under this, the marks will be awarded by using the conversion tables approved by the APPECET Committee

  • The events are categorized as per the candidate’s gender

(b) Skill Test in Game

  • Maximum Marks: 100

  • Under this, the candidate's skills are tested via various games viz. Ball Badminton, Football, Kabaddi, Tennis, Basketball and more.

Note: Make sure to choose the desired game at the time of registration, failing to do so will result in losing 100 marks.

Stage 3: AP PECET Results, Merit List, and Rank

The qualifying marks to the candidates belonging to general and other categories will be assigned in the order of merit, based on aggregate marks obtained in the AP PECET Physical Efficiency Test and Skill Test.

  • This score or merit will be grouped and will be inclusive of incentive marks if they have any

  • For SC/ ST category candidates, no qualifying marks criteria is prescribed, so they will anyway be assigned the rank in the order of merit only

In case the merit list has a case, wherein more than one student scores the same aggregate marks, the tie will be resolved following the listed criteria:

  • Scores secured in the Physical efficiency test will be taken into consideration

  • In case of a further tie, marks scored in the Skill Test in games will be taken into consideration

  • In case of a further tie, the candidate’s Date of Birth will be considered i.e. the older candidates will be given priority based on age

  • In case of a further tie, a common rank will be given. At the time of admission, it is resolved based on qualifying exam marks (Intermediate or graduation as the case may be).

Q:   What are the qualifying marks in the Andhra Pradesh PECET?
A: 

The qualifying marks in the Andhra Pradesh PECET will be 30% of the aggregate marks obtained by the student in the actual test items which is the Physical Efficiency Test for 400 Marks and Skill Test in games for 100 Marks. There is no minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories. 

Q:   What documents are required for verification?
A: 

Along with the Andhra Pradesh PECET hall ticket candidates must carry any one of the following -

  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Voter ID
  • Aadhar card
  • College/School ID card to the exam center for verification.

They must also carry their recent 2 passpost size photographs to the exam centre. The passpost size photograph should be the one matching their application form as it will be helpful for them during the verification process.

Q:   What is tie breaking method in Andhra Pradesh PECET?
A: 

To prepare the Andhra Pradesh PECET merit list, in case of more than one student scoring the same aggregate marks, the tie will be resolved to decide the relative ranking as follows:

Marks scored by candidates in the Physical efficiency test will be taken into consideration.  In case it is still a tie, marks scored by the candidate in Skill Test in games will be taken into consideration. In case of another, the Date of Birth of the candidate will be considered and the older candidates will be given preference on the basis of their age. In case of another tie, common rank will be given. At the time of admission, it will be resolved based on qualifying examination marks.

Q:   Can I request to change my Andhra Pradesh PECET exam centre after it is released?
A: 

No, once the Andhra Pradesh PECET 2025 admit card is released, candidates cannot raise a query to change it as it will not be possible once the centre is allotted. APSCHE tries its best to allot the centre in the city of candidate's preference however, in case the city is not as per candidate's feasibililty, they are suggested to contact the helpline in advance to get it changed but the chances for the change in the exam city or centre is very slim.
