No, candidates seeking admission to the Allahabad University for most of its UG and PG courses have to appear for the CUET-UG and PGAT entrance exams, respectively. For a few courses, such as BBA, admission is subject to merit list created subject to the Class 12 scores. While for UG courses, the CUET UG entrance exam is usually conducted in May, the PG course registrations via the PGAT entrance tests is conducted till Mid of May.
Allahabad University accepts AU-PGAT exam scores for admission to MBA. The exam is conducted by Allahabad University. Candidates for admission to this course have to undergo an additional test conducted by the concerned department. Final merit is computed on the basis of a total of marks scored in PGAT and scores obtained by the students in the department-level additional test. Those who qualify and score well in the exam, such students are required to go through the counselling process conducted again by the university for final seat allotment.
Allahabad University BCA admission is not based on the applicant's merit in Class 12. It is based on their performance in CUET UG. Applicants just have to pass Class 12 with relevant subjects to be eligible to pursue BCA at the university. Hence, a candidate scoring less than 50% is eligible to apply for BCA at the university. However, they will only get an admission if they have a valid CUET UG score. If a candidate fails to secure a seat for BCA at Allahabad University, they can try to get admission at some other college offering the course. Allahabad University was established on the 23rd September 1887, Sir William Muir who was Lt. governor of the United Provinces conceived the idea of a Central College in Allahabad and as a result of his efforts, the Foundation stone of Muir Central College was laid on December 9th in 1873. Muir College, named after Lt. Sir William Muir, only eventually developed into a University and became known as Allahabad University. Initially, Muir Central College came under the University of Calcutta but later with the passing of an Act Allahabad University was established.
It started as a degree-conferring institution. In 1904 Indian Universities Act was passed with which Its territorial Jurisdiction was limited to provinces of the United provinces of Awadh and Agra, The Central provinces and most of the states of Rajputana and central Indian agencies. 38 institutions of these areas were affiliated to Allahabad University between 1887 and 1927. In 1921 Muir College lost its independent existence and merged with AU Allahabad University with the implementation of the University of Allahabad Act.
University started establishing its own teaching departments and doctoral research programs from 1904 onwards, Senate -hall was opened in 1912. In 1951 it recognized some local institutions as associated colleges where some undergraduate courses were taught. In 1992 state government accorded recognition to the Premier institution and in 2003 Union Cabinet decided to Restore central university status which was accorded in 2005 through The University of Allahabad Act by the parliament of India.

Yes, Allahabad University offers a three-year full-time BCA programme in self-financed and general mode. This programme is spread over three years and six semesters. To be eligible for this course, students must have completed their Class 12 with Science or Commerce stream.
