Candidates can apply for Annamalai University admission in online mode through its official website. Interested applicants also need to pay a course-specific application fee to conclude the application process. The university is ranked among the top three Universities in India for best distance education providers. The University has educated over 4.5 Lacs students in the past and continues to teach over thousands more. Hence, it is a good university for candidates wanting to study a distance course.

The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

Annamalai University DDE has not specified any age limit to apply for a course. However, aspirants do need to fulfill the qualification requirements to apply for admission. The basic qualification required for UG courses is Class 12 and graduation for PG programmes.

Annamalai University Distance Education offers admission to candidates based on their merit. Candidates can get a seat directly through Spot Admission. Aspirants have to submit the filled-in application form along with the documents to the nearest Learners Support Centre or LSC in-person to get direct admission. All Spot Admissions are subject to confirmation or cancellation (if found ineligible) by the Director, CD&OE.

Candidates must upload scanned copies of the documents below while filling out the application form. Also, self-attested Xerox copies of these documents have to be attached and sent to the University address along with the downloaded copy of the application form:

1. Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets/ grade certificates
2. UG/ PG mark sheets/ grade certificates (if applicable)
3. Proof of date of birth
4. Transfer and conduct/ Migration certificate from the previous institution
5. Passport-size photograph
6. Community certificate (for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates)
7. Medical certificate
8. Certificate of extra-curricular activities (if applicable)

Annamalai University DDE offers courses at UG, PG, Diploma and certificate levels in distance education mode. The on-campus courses at Annamalai University are duly approved/accredited by apex bodies like NAAC  (Grade A+), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), etc. Some of the popular courses at Annamalai DDE includes MA, BFA and MBA. The fees for UG courses at Annamalai University Tamil Nadu is very less comparatively to other colleges it is around INR 3,000-10,000 per year for courses like BFA and BSc and they are similar but a little high for B.Tech courses. The reason for lower fees might be distance learning so it saves all infrastructure facilities and the rest is the same.
