What's new at Annamalai University? GATE 2023 results was announced on Mar 31.
Annamalai University PhD admissions are conducted twice a year in December and June. The programme is offered in full-time, part-time (internal) and part-time (external) modes for a duration of a minimum of three years and a maximum of six years. Scholars, who do not submit the thesis within the maximum duration of the programme, can apply for an extension of time three months prior to the completion of six years. In such cases, a maximum grace period of one year, beyond the normal maximum period is granted. Candidates can submit an application for a PhD at Annamalai University via online mode. Admission is entrance-based followed by an interview round.

Annamalai University PhD Admission 2023: Types of Courses
The details regarding types of PhD programmes are as follows:
- Full-time PhD programme: Candidates, in the full-time mode, need to do research work on the University campus only. The full-time PhD scholars need to report daily in the department at least during the office hours of the University and they should sign every day in the attendance register at the respective place of research.
- Part-time (Internal) PhD programme: Research scholars under this category are those who are presently employed on regular basis in this University at the time of applying for the PhD programme. Those who have joined as assistant professors with MPhil/ ME/ MTech/ MPharm/ MSc (Agriculture)/ MSc (Horticulture)/ MD/ MS/ MDS/ MPT/ MSc (Nursing)/ MSc (Food & Nutrition) are permitted to register for PhD programme after one year from the date of joining in the post. Faculty members, who do not have an MPhil degree, shall be allowed to register for the PhD programme after two years from the date of joining in the post, whereas, the non-teaching faculty can join after five years of tenure at the University.
- Part-time (External) PhD programme: The University admits candidates under the part-time external category. The part-time candidates need to register under a research supervisor who is a full-time teaching faculty of Annamalai University. The Part-time candidate should be employed as an assistant professor/ associate professor/ professor in a recognised college/ university where facilities for carrying out research work are available. Further, such candidates should possess minimum qualifications for applying for PhD programme.
Annamalai University PhD Application Process 2023
Annamalai University application process 2023 is conducted online through its official website. Given below is the step-wise Annamalai University application process for PhD:
Step 1: Visit the official website of Annamalai University (www.annamalaiuniversity.ac.in). On its homepage, click on “Admissions On-Campus Portal”.
Step 2: On the left menu of the landing page, click on the 'Application Online' link that opens a drop-down menu.
Step 3: Click on the stream containing the programme for which you wish to apply. On clicking the stream tab, a new page opens up.
Step 4: On this page, the prospectus of all the programmes is available, followed by registration links. Click on the programme for which you wish to apply under the 'New Applicant' tab.
Step 5: The registration page opens up. Register by filling in details, including name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins. Hit the ‘Submit’ button once done.
Step 6: The Annamalai University application form opens up. Fill in other details, including personal information, qualifications, guardian details, etc.
Step 7: Select the payment method. In case of offline payment, visit the nearest ICICI Bank to deposit the money using net banking.
Step 8: Upload all the required documents in PDF format along with a passport-size photo of less than 50 kb in JPEG/ JPG format.
Step 9: Conclude the application process by taking a printout of the application form.
Annamalai University PhD Application Process 2023: Important Documents
Candidates need to upload scanned copies of the below-mentioned documents while filling out the application form. Also, self-attested Xerox copies of these documents have to be attached and sent to the University address along with the downloaded copy of the application form:

- Research Incentives will be granted to SC/ST students doing full-time PhD Programmes at a rate of INR 50,000/- p.a for 4 years only by Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Chennai.

Annamalai University offers placement assistance through various collaborations and partnerships laid by the University. As per the recent stats, around 202 PG 2 year Agriculture students participated in placement drive, within which, 125 received packaged successfully, marking the median package of worth INR 4.22 LPA. Similarly, among 1,180 UG 4-year Agriculture students, 811 received placement packages, marking the median package of INR 3.19 LPA. M.Tech graduates, on the other hand, received a median package of INR 4.28 LPA.
The UG degree admission process entails the basic eligibility criteria of maintaining a minimum aggregate of 40% to 50% in Class 12.
