Ghaziabad, 5 October 2026: KIET Deemed to be University, Ghaziabad, celebrated World Space Week 2026 with a one-day seminar and interaction session on Prof. Satish Dhawan Memorial Day, remembering Padma Vibhushan Prof. Satish Dhawan as “a Scientist, Teacher and Visionary”. The theme of the seminar was “Space Technology for National Development: From Earth Observation to Emerging Space Applications”.

The programme began with the ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a KIET video presentation and the presentation of Oxy Plants to the invited experts. Dr. Abhishek Sharma introduced the seminar theme and objectives, a tribute video to Prof. Dhawan was screened, and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao, delivered the welcome address and university overview.

Shri Anil C. Mathur (Retd. Group Director, SAC, ISRO and Professor of Practice, IIT Roorkee) spoke on space technology for national development and emerging applications; Dr. M. R. Sujimol (Head, Delhi Earth Station, SAC, ISRO) on satellite communication and operational space systems; and Dr. Pramod Kumar (Ex-Dean, IIRS, ISRO, Dehradun) on earth observation and remote sensing applications. An interactive question–answer session with students and faculty followed, and the experts later visited KIET’s Centres of Excellence for technical interaction.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manoj Goel, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KIET said: “Space technology is no longer distant science; it touches farming, weather forecasting, communication and disaster management every day. Remembering Prof. Satish Dhawan, I urge our students to dream big, learn from every failure and build for India. Such interaction with ISRO’s experts will inspire them to pursue research and innovation in space and electronics.”

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Ragini Sharma, Assistant Professor, ECE, who also looked after stage management. She thanked the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Director Academics, the Deans, the invited experts, the faculty, staff and students, and every individual who contributed to the success of the event, directly or indirectly.

The event was organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and ECE–VLSI Design & Technology under the leadership of Dean ECE, Dr. Vibhav Kumar Sachan, Dr. Abhishek Sharma, Professor and Program Head, ECE–VLSI D&T, Dr. Ruchita Gautam (Program Head ECE) as the Organiser. Dr. Ragini Sharma, & Dr. Harshita Prasad were the part of organizing team.

Failing to accept the provisional BTech offer at KIET University within seven days causes the seat allocation to expire. The automated ERP system clears the profile and reallocates the vacancy to the next eligible student. Expired offers cannot be restored under standard operating procedures.
