To get admission at Assam Science and Technology University, students need to go through a multi-step admission process. Eligible students can apply online at the official website of the university. Students need to firstly apply for the entrance exam conducted by the concerned body as admissions are mainly entrance-based. Applicants are then shortlisted based on their scores obtained in national or state-level tests. Some of the entrance exams accepted by the university include JEE Mains, Assam CEE, NATA, GATE, etc. Seat allotment is done through counselling. Those who make it to the final merit list are then required to go through document verification and pay ASTU admission fees to confirm their seats.

Structural Engineers design, plan and supervise the construction projects, eg  - buildings, parks, malls, bridges and more. They also take care of alterations to existing properties or structures. A Site Engineer takes responsibility for security, safety, health, organising and supervising material and people at sites.
