Real colors of DMC&H, college of nursing, Ludhiana, Malakpur.
Placements: All students are asked if they want to work in the hospital or not, and based on the interview, they get placements in different hospital departments. You have to work in shifts, morning, evening, and night, even during your student life. You can't even close your eyes during night duty, even if there is no work. Although no stipend is provided during the internship, you will gain a lot of practical exposure.
Infrastructure: College has a gym, mess, and TV room, but none of the gym equipment works, and the TV subscription is not even renewed. There is a large ground and a basketball court. The rooms are small considering the number of people living in them. The food is average, with no fruits or milk served. The canteen is too expensive, and online food delivery is not allowed. Outings are also prohibited, and parents are not allowed to enter the campus unless the warden gives permission. While it is understandable that parents cannot enter the hostel rooms, they are not even allowed inside the college campus.
Faculty: Faculty rarely gives high assessment marks; unlike other colleges where you can score up to 22 or 23 out of 25, here you’ll usually get around 19 or 20 at most. Students are often used as unpaid labor in the hospital, leaving them too exhausted to focus on their studies, which leads to failing exams. The environment can be toxic, and many students here suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, often requiring psychiatric medication. Some teachers mentally harass students to the point where they lose interest in everything.
Other: In the name of activities, they organize seminars or exhibitions that only exhaust you even more. Sports events last for just one day, from 8 AM to 2 PM, and that’s it. As students here, we are trauma-bonded and end up causing each other more trauma.

College is good and excellent performance in nearby areas.
Placements: Student's placement according to the interview result, but the placement feedback is too good. The package is Rs 30,000 maximum. The different hospital management comes for the interview and selects the students for the job. In clinical duty, the hospital also participates and cooperative with students.
Infrastructure: In our college, labs, library, classrooms, and hall are present. College infrastructure is good. In our hostel, the food, rooms, and medical facilities are good. In hot weather, proper arrangements are made for students to use cooling devices. In hostel, the rooms are average. There are 4 students in each room.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is good. Sports meets and games are also involved every week. That much not difficult but if the teachers are good it will be easy for us. If you are interested in teaching after B.Sc. then college also permits the students to teach in our college.
Other: The staff and principal are very helpful and also guide you from different perspectives.

The best college if you want to have more clinical exposure.
Placements: This college has a great knowledgeable faculty, which makes the students skillful, furthermore enhancing students' capabilities. Because of this, students easily clear government competitive exams like NORCET, SGPGI, and foreign exams like NCLEX for RN in Canada, the US, and Australia.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus and the hostel is okay. Hostel rooms are not that wide, but the hostel expenses are too much, which makes the government college as costly as a private one. The hostel doesn't have any Wi-Fi facility. There is no canteen available inside the hostel, but outside there is a small one.
Faculty: The faculty of the nursing college is great. It has a library that has a lot of competitive books for your future. Most of the faculty are Ph.D. holders. These faculty members hold great knowledge in the healthcare field. They provide knowledge and skills for students, which are very helpful for the future.

My honest review about my college.
Placements: The college provided good placement opportunities. After completing MD, you could work in a medical college, a private hospital, or as a teaching faculty to gain more experience, or even start your own clinic. The college supported us if we wanted to have our own startup.
Infrastructure: The hostel was in the college premises, but that building has now been transformed into the administrative block. At present, there are no hostel facilities. But, there was a college canteen inside the college premises.
Faculty: Faculty members were really good and had completed their PG degrees. They were always supportive and were updated with the latest technology. The ratio of faculty to students was 1:10. Faculty used various methods to teach and make the sessions more interesting. The course offered many specialisations to choose from. Exams were conducted semester-wise. We had practical sessions, internals, assignments, case studies, end-term papers, etc. The course was good and focused more on diseases and the treatment part. You needed to study with full concentration. The course was of 1 year in total, and during that year, I forgot everything else except studies. I studied a lot to clear all exams and get the degree. It was not easy, and a lot of dedication was required. The course was taught very well, with different topics covered each month, and everything was completed before the deadline.

On Cutoffs
Q:   What is the latest cutoff information for admission to B.Sc at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences?
A:

Admission at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) is based on performance in the most recent qualifying test, most likely the results of the 12th grade, rather than rigorous cutoff marks for B.Sc. programs (except nursing). According to Students at this institute, this strategy is the result of BFUHS not posting deadlines for B.Sc. programs on their website (except from nursing). BFUHS only uses NEET UG results for MBBS and BDS admissions. Still, you can definitely improve your application if you do well on your last qualifying exam. In contrast, BFUHS offers the Punjab Paramedical Entrance Test (PPMET) for B.Sc. Nursing. A greater PPMET score can increase your chances of being selected, even though BFUHS does not disclose exact cutoff values for this program.
