Banasthali Vidyapith is a compulsorily residential institution i.e., on being admitted to the university the student must live in the campus hostels. However, a student who is the ward of a worker of the University is exempted if she stays with them on the campus or if the student belongs to a neighbouring village community within a radius of 2.5 km.

Banasthali Vidyapith is one of the five higher education institutes in India meant only for women India. Thus, it admits only woman candidates to its BSc courses. The university offers 20 different BSc specialisations for students to choose from. These specialisations have different eligibility criteria.
