Q:   I am getting IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay for Chemical and IIT Gandhinagar for CSE. What should I opt for?

A:

JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. For IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, the Round 1 cutoff for Chemical Engineering were 2207 and 2507, respectively for  the General AI category candidates. For IIT Gandhinagar, the Round 1 cutoff for CSE was 1576. So, to answer your question, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are always a good options as compared to IIT Gandhinagar based on thier NIRF ranking. For Chemical Engineering, both IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are highly recommended as they have excellent faculty, research opportunities, and strong alumni networks. Also, Chemical Engineering offers you an opportunity to work in PSU, whereas CSE students don’t have that opportunity. On the otherhand, a CSE student have an opportunity to work in MNC’s with higher salary package even more than what PSU’s give. But since, IIT Gandhinagar has been ranked 18th in the NIRF Ranking 2023, you must consider its other aspects such as placement, ROI etc to take your decision.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main 2024 session 1 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 1 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2024 immediately. By analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 examination.

Q:   What is the opening and closing rank for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi?

A:

An In-Depth Review of IIT Delhi: A Premier Institute for Engineering and Technology.
Placements: Basically, it was recession time, but except that in my course, almost 60–70% of students got placed, the highest package was 50–60 LPA, the minimum was 5–6 LPA, and the average of my course was around 12–16 LPA. As all big companies come to our college, e.g., Google, Microsoft, Uber, Mercedes, and many more, and yes, the highest package of our college is 4 CPA, you can also grab it even if you are not from the CS branch.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good not the best and Labs are clear and pretty good for our course, Classrooms are great and library is also too good to study in. Hostels are good, not too many facilities canteen is great for the price, and mess is okok. It also has a hospital and yes, there are 3 grounds for different sports, sports culture is really impressive in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and highly qualified, as IIT Delhi is; top teachers are very knowledgeable, and teaching quality is good enough, not really great. The course curriculum is really tough, and when you experience it, you realise why IIT is being called IIT.
Other: I have an interest in this field of B.Teach; that's why I chose this branch, and the best thing about it is that it is one of the easiest courses provided by IIT Delhi. The curriculum should be improved, some irrelevant subjects should be removed, and the marking scheme and exam date should also be improved. And for the fest, there are two fests that happen at IIT Delhi: one is the cultural fest, i.e., Rendovous, which is the largest festival in Asia, and the second is the teaching fest at IIT Delhi, i.e., Tryst.

Review of My College IITD: Satisfied by Curriculum, Campus Life & Infrastructure
Placements: Around 90% of the students were placed during the recent placement season for my course. For my branch, the main recruiting companies are Jaguar, Wipro, TATA, Mahindra, TCL, HUL, etc. The highest package is 81 LPA and the lowest is 12 LPA. The median is 15-20 LPA. Almost 30-40% of students got internships in Wipro, Jaguar, TCL, and HUL. Mainly Supply Chain Managers, Product Managers, and Supervisors are offered.
Infrastructure: All classrooms are AC centralized, and all the labs have special areas/blocks for them. Every lab has lab processors and lab assistants. The labs are well maintained, but some labs are outdated and old and need to be renovated. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The library has a good collection of books covering almost every concept. Hostels provide only a bed and a ceiling fan; you have to bring other things yourself. The mess food quality is good and better than we expected. Medical facilities are good; prescribed medicines are free. The canteen food is good. Sports facilities are well established, having grounds and separate blocks for every sport.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful; almost every faculty member is a Ph.D. holder and very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. The course content is relevant, but some courses are outdated and need to be removed. These courses almost make students industry-ready, but you have to do some relevant projects on campus to achieve perfection. Exams and curriculum are a little bit hectic. Passing marks are 30/100 for almost every course.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in Mechanical Engineering from my JEE days. The courses are well-oriented and moderately difficult to learn. Courses need to be made more interesting, and some industry visits are needed. Events are held almost every day in IITD. The campus is beautiful and well-built. The college is well connected to Delhi city as IIT Delhi is in the main city. Scholarships are available for almost every student at IITD, mainly MCM Scholarships. We have clubs and societies for cultural, academic, and placement cell for extracurricular activities.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the course curriculum of mathematics and computing department at IIT D.
Placements: The highest package would be around 2 CR, which is PPO. And the lowest, I would say, CTC is 8 lpa. I'm in the mathematics and computing branch at IIT Delhi, so I would say that till the 4th day, almost 50% were placed and till the 10th, 75%. As per the recession, it's quite okay for me. But in normal situations, it could have been way better. Top companies like Graviton, NVidia, Google, Microsoft and many more. The top two roles were software and data analysts.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in my department are quite good, as per need. We have proper classes in the lecture hall and have Wi-Fi access at all locations on campus. Also, library hours are nice. And we have 24*7 access to the library at times of examination. Mess food quality is okay, not worse and not good. I'm in the Himadri Hostel. The canteen is okay too and medical facilities are also okay. The same goes for sports and games.
Faculty: Average teaching quality was very nice and some professors connected really well with us and conveyed concepts but we have some not-so-good professors too who aren't interested in average students and focused only on tips, which is not quite a good strategy. The course curriculum for my branch could be made more structured and flexible. Semester exams are difficult; it depends on the professor taking the course but overall, if you have prepared for the whole semester, it's easy and if you only do them two days before exams, it's going to be tough.
Other: I wanted to be in only the top IITs, so I took the most valuable branch I could get, which is mathematics and computing, at IIT Delhi. The best thing is that you are going to get placed even if you are putting in very little effort. To be improved would be its curriculum and the way of teaching. Extracurricular activities were excellent at IIT Delhi, but they have declined in recent years.

Master of Business Administration from DMS IIT Delhi.
Placements: For the MBA at DMS IIT Delhi, ample placement opportunities are provided to students. In the last semester, almost all students had placement opportunities, with around 50-55% successfully placed in our course. Top recruiters at the college include TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte, MetaCube, etc. The average package offered at this college ranged from 4 to 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: DMS at IIT Delhi has excellent infrastructure for the MBA course. Our department has all necessary facilities such as a library, canteen, Wi-Fi, and other amenities. Sports facilities are also available for students, and the campus is quite spacious. Hostel facilities are provided to students as well.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is very good. All professors teach concepts in depth and are well-qualified and knowledgeable. They support each and every student. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. Exams at the college are of medium difficulty level.

I am happy to study in this college.
Placements: 67% of students in our course were placed this year. The highest package for our course is 45 LPA, and the lowest package is around 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Air India, American Express, Hydrobots, Jaguar Land Rover India Limited, Google, and Piramal Finance. Around 40% of students got internships in my course, and they were done at high-tech companies.
Infrastructure: My course provided excellent infrastructure for labs, classrooms, library, Wi-Fi, etc. Everything in our college is excellent; the food quality is good, and the college provides a free medical facility 24/7 for students in the IITD hospital. The sports facilities are also excellent here.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and very knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is outstanding. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. The exams are a bit difficult, but if we are regular, they become manageable. The pass percentage is 30%.
Other: I like the courses because they have both core and technical content. So far, everything is good. Events and festivals in our college are amazing: good crowd, nice connectivity among each other, etc.
