At Doon University, students are offered various specialisations for the BA programme. The university offers BA (Hons) and BA research course. Doon University is established as a university by an Act of the Uttrakhand Government, and it is also recognised under section 12 (B) of the University Grant Commission (UGC) Act 1956. Hence, all the courses and specialisations offered at Doon University are valid all over India.

According to the information given in the Doon University admission prospectus:

• Students are required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance for appearing in the end-semester examinations. The Vice-Chancellor may allow the shortage of attendance to the extent of 5% based on the recommendation of the HoD concerned under conditions prescribed by the Academic Council.
• Students whose total attendance is less than 75% will not be allowed to appear in the end semester examination and will be declared fail for that semester and year accordingly.

The candidate should have passed Class 12 in any stream with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved categories from Uttarakhand). Those candidates who have the aforesaid aggregate in their Class 12 marksheet can appear for the entrance test conducted by Doon University for admission in any of the BA domains. Candidates whose names will appear in the selected candidate's list published on the official website of the university can register for the counselling process, where they can fill in their branch preferences. The final step to complete the counselling and admission process is to get the document verified and tuition fees paid.

Yes, Doon University indeed reserves a certain amount of seats for students who are residents of Uttarakhand.
