It has strong academics and lab exposure with vibrant campus life.

Placements: My experience with the placement process was quite enriching and insightful. 70 percent students from our course got placed. Some students chose to pursue higher education like M.Sc, PhD or prepared for competitive exams such as CSIR, NET and GATE.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities provided by the Biochemistry department are quite satisfactory and well equipped for both academic and research purposes. The hostel rooms are clean and spacious with basic furniture like beds, study tables and cupboards. Regular housekeeping is done to maintain hygiene.

Faculty: Faculty members in the Biochemistry department are highly qualified, experienced, and supportive. Most of them are PhD holders in specialised areas like molecular biology, enzymology, genetics, and clinical biochemistry. The course curriculum is up-to-date and relevant to both academic and industrial trends. Topics like biotechnology, bioinformatics, molecular diagnostics, and clinical chemistry are included, which are highly useful in modern biotech/pharma industries. The course also emphasised lab training, research skills, and report writing, which made students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult, focusing on both theoretical understanding and practical application.

Other: I chose biochemistry because of my deep interest in understanding the chemical processes of life at the molecular level. I have always been curious about how cells function, how enzymes work, and how diseases can be understood at the biochemical level. This course gave me the perfect platform to explore these areas and build a strong foundation for careers in research, healthcare, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals. Apart from academics, students could join clubs like the literary society, science club, sports teams, dance/music groups, etc. Annual sports meets and talent shows are added to the fun and development.

My M.Sc. experience at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University.

Placements: The placement cell did not visit for my course. Being the gold medalist of my subject, I did not get any placement. As no companies arrived, none of the students got placed. We graduated in 2023 and received our degrees the same year.

Infrastructure: Classrooms and laboratories were in good condition and up to the mark. Wi-Fi was not available on the campus for students. Sports activities were held every year as part of the annual sports meet. Cultural events also took place from time to time on various occasions.

Faculty: Faculty was good and experienced. Their teaching skills were up to the mark, and they taught as per the curriculum designed by the UGC. I achieved 77% marks; if you paid proper attention, you could easily get similar marks. For M.Sc. in Chemistry, we had to study all the parts of the core subjects.

Other: I chose this course because I wanted to pursue a Ph.D. My course was beneficial in many ways. I could further go for government teacher recruitment through GIC and become an assistant professor by qualifying the UGC CSIR NET exam.
