No, direct admissions are not possible in GITAM University. The accepted entrance exams are TS EAMCET,  GITAM GAT,  AP EAMCET,  JEE Main,  CUET, IRMASAT, KCET, and others. In order to be eligible for admission to the GIMSR MS programme, students are required to fulfill eligibility requirements as per the NEET PG (MD/MS) Information Bulletin. As per official sources, students with an MBBS degree from an institute recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) are eligible for the programme.Such candidates must possess an MBBS degree or a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate at the time of admissions. Apart from this, students must have completed a compulsory rotatory internship of one year.

Once students have filled the GIMSR MS application form, students must participate in the NEET PG counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS. The counseling process is conducted after the NEET-PG entrance exam has been concluded. During the counseling rounds, students are alloted seats in their preferred campuses, depending on their scores. The fee to apply for the counselling process ranges from INR 5,000 to INR 2 lakh.

At the UG level, GITAM Medical College offers a 5.5-year MBBS course. Candidates who have completed their Class 12 in a relevant stream can apply for admission to MBBS. The total seat intake is 150, wherein 127 seats are under the management/paid seats and 23 NRI seats. Admission is through NEET-UG, followed by MCC counselling.

If a candidate has a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 12 then they are eligible for admission in the GITAM Vishakhapatnam BPharm programme. Selection is done on the basis of the merit secured in the GITAM GAT and NEET UG entrance exams. Candidates can  apply for either of the exams to secure admission into the programme.
