B.Sc. in Medical Science - Batch of 2024

No placement, affordable.
Placements: No placement is provided by the college. 30% of students get jobs by themselves. There are no big companies. No internship is provided by the college. This college is not for placement. It is only for getting a degree. In Science, we only get knowledge of Science theoretically.
Infrastructure: It was average. There was Wi-Fi at the start only. Laboratories were good. Classrooms were good. The library was good. The hostel was good. The canteen was not hygienic at all. Medical facilities were there. Sports and games were available in college. NCC was present. Overall, it was good.
Faculty: Teachers were average. Botany teachers were excellent. Other teachers were average, and Chemistry teachers were the worst. The curriculum doesn't make students job-ready. Semester exams were fair. There was strictness and no cheating. 34% was required to pass the exam.
Other: It was affordable because it was a government college. The best thing was the botany lectures. It should be taught in such a way that students can earn a living after graduation. Fests were celebrated. It was not very crowded. Surroundings were good. Scholarships were available for SC students. Extracurricular activities were there.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Batch of 2028
Offered by Shri Guru Teg Bahadur College, Sathiala

Good learning experience at GNDU with a supportive faculty.
Placements: Placements for the BCA course are okay and mostly depend on how much effort a student puts in. Around 40-50% of students get placed, and many find jobs on their own. The average salary is around 2-3 LPA. Internships are also available in small IT companies, and common roles are IT support, junior developer, and customer support.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good and well-maintained. Classrooms and labs are properly set up and comfortable for regular use. Wi-Fi and library facilities are available for students. Hostel rooms are clean and manageable, and the food in the mess is decent. Sports, medical, and other basic facilities are also available, making campus life smooth and comfortable.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-educated, and they treat the students with respect. They teach properly and clear all the doubts. The course, like BCA, is a very good course for starting a good career, and the college makes every effort to make the students ready for the interviews and placements. The difficulty of the exams is okay, as long as students prepare for the exam sincerely, they can get good marks easily.
Other: The students and the faculty members are friendly. Many students come from different states to study here. They don't feel bored or alone on campus. GNDU celebrates every festival and organize youth festival every year, which is very enjoyable for everybody.

I think this college can be improved with some changes.
Placements: I guess about 50% of students get placements around 1 LPA. I don’t know much about the exact figures. Around 60% of students get internships.
Infrastructure: Our college has Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and a library. The college does not provide hostels. Food quality is not up to the mark and can be improved. Medical facilities are good. For sports and games, the college is not as strong as some other colleges. There is room for improvement in the overall infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and very good. Their teaching is also good. Exams are kind of easy, and the pass percentage is around 55%. The college cannot fully make students industry-ready. Students have to gain practical experience themselves. Faculty can do better in this area.
Other: This college is good for students in NSS and other extracurricular activities, where they can improve their skills. The college campus also provides a better overall experience.

Excellent college campus.
Placements: 50 percent of students are placed in our course. The highest package offered in our college is Lacs for the entire course and the lowest package offered is 1.2 LPA for the entire course. After completing, we can work in banks and various private sectors. 60 percent of students got internship from our course and are in Ram Financial Limited.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of our college are good. There are Wi-Fi, smart boards, a library, and all other facilities available. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is good, with quality food and medical facilities available. We play indoor as well as outdoor games like cricket, volleyball, badminton, tennis, and carrom etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and extremely well in academics and have a decent knowledge and are understanding. Being out of college makes students industry ready. Exams are very difficult in our college conducted by university. Pass percentage is 70 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I want to do my own business and make my own brand. The best thing about our course is that after completing it, we can get a job easily in the private and government sectors, and there is a huge demand abroad.

Review of Guru Nanak Dev University College, Jalandhar, GNDU,
Placements: The placement cell was a huge add-on to my career path. They instantly initiated the process of the placement and related stuff when I entered my 2nd last semester of the curriculum. They provided us companies for internships and full-time placements and introduced us to companies that are dream companies for many. Many companies come on campus, including local companies of the state, Byjus, Wipro, TCS, Amazon, Datalog, etc. The company with the highest package offers 14 Lacs. If you sit in placement, a minimum of 7.5 CGPA is required, and there were different criteria for placement.
Infrastructure: It was a very good course to learn about programming languages; they were very focused on practicals so we could learn effectively. Every month, they hold special sessions so students can share their innovative ideas, giving the basic and advanced knowledge of C, C++, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, etc. In the first two semesters, basic knowledge of computers is given along with the main course. Hostel facilities were available at reasonable charges, and the room sizes were good. The food was hygienic and well-ordered with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and there was 24 hours of water supply.
Faculty: The faculty of my college was very supportive, helpful, and friendly. They all had Master's degrees in their fields and excellent command of the subjects they teach. The faculty at my college is highly qualified, experienced, and well-trained. We were taught in an interesting way. Teachers are understanding and organize various events related to different electives to enhance learning. The faculty has enough knowledge of their subjects, and they are very supportive. There is a semester system followed, where we had 2 mid-semester exams and 1 end-semester exam in college, along with midterm exams, and at last, we have a final exam.

They conduct less interactive classes, which are so boring.
Placements: RSM India, BDO India, S. R. Batlibboi College, and Grant Thornton Bharat LLP are a few of the auditing companies that have shown their interest in hiring a large number of candidates from our department. We only depend on the placement cell for internship offers in the nearby companies. Professional and skilled courses are also arranged for us to train us with proper skills.
Infrastructure: Only the exact number of students is admitted to all the courses to lessen the crowd and to improve the performance. Sports and other physical activities are scheduled only once a week. There are certain liberties in hostel premises and other things. We visit the library only during free periods and break hours.
Faculty: Teachers make us roam here and there in order to get signatures from them on the records and other fee receipts. They rarely use boards for teaching, and at all other times, they deliver less interactive digital presentation classes, which are highly boring and annoying.
