Indira Gandhi National Open University BA admission is done on the basis of merit scored in Class 12. IGNOU BA programme is offered across 16 specialisations. Some of the specialisations in which the course is available are Tourism Studies, History, Hindi, Sociology, etc. The duration for all these courses is three years. The maximum duration for all of them can go up to six years. The medium of instruction is either in English or Hindi. The course is offered in two cycles, January and July cycles of admission.
To earn a BA (Hons) degree, a candidate must complete courses worth 148 credits in at least six semesters. The honours programmes have a mix of the courses:

These forms are processed region-wise on a first-come-first-serve basis. IGNOU provides study material to all the students pursuing a course from the university. The material is accessible to all the students irrespective of their location. While filling out the application form, students can choose hard or soft copy of study material. The study material is free of cost and aspirants only need to pay the course fee for admission.
As per a recent notification released by the IGNOU university, SC/ST students seeking fresh admission and re-registration to the July session of IGNOU admission are exempted from fee payment. Students willing to avail themselves of this facility must submit their applications online along with a soft copy of the documents required for the claim.

The open university carries out its admission procedure in two sessions. Thus, the students can apply for admission either in January or July session. IGNOU admission cycle opens twice in a year i.e. January and July. The registrations for January session usually begins in December and close by March. The July session for ODL/ Online programmes begin in May and continue till July. The mode of application is online for all the courses.
As per the official brochure released, a student is allowed to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously through ODL / Online mode, as per the illustration given below.

Certain programmes are not allowed under the simultaneous registration. Students are advised to visit
the official prospectus for the same. Additionally, there will be no change in the counseling/ assignment submission/ examination schedule in case dates for the above clash for the courses in which a student has taken admission.
The tuition fee for BSc, PB BSc and BSc (Hons) range from INR 10,500 to INR 43,500 depending on different specialisations available across both the courses. Candidates have to pay re-registration fee and course fee, annually till the course completion. The fee payment can be done online via credit card/ debit card/ net banking.
It must be noted that the mentioned fee amount is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is however, subject to changes and hence, is indicative.

In addition, the permanent positions of Regional Callers, Backend Executives and Retention Executives were available in the placements with salary packages ranging between INR 1.7 LPA and INR 3 LPA. Yes, IGNOU offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) course of three-year duration. Admission to the UG-level course is subject to fulfiment of the eligibility requirements.
