One of the leading universities in India, IGNOU offers over 200 UG, PG, diploma, certificate and doctoral courses via open and distance learning (ODL) mode. Indira Gandhi National Open University offers BSc and BSc (Hons) course across different durations. The course duration range from three to four years. Check out all specialisations available under BSc in the following table:

In addition to BSc, IGNOU also offers a UG BSc (Hons) programme across two specialisations, namely Anthropology and Biochemistry. 

The eligibility criteria for all MSc courses are as follows:

Yes, IGNOU MBA applicants can apply for scholarship schemes offered by the Government of India. Students can apply through the official website. Contenders visit the centre and for fianancial assiatnce. 

IGNOU MSc fee is INR 15,000 and INR 43,200. And, like all the other courses, a non-refundable registration fee of INR 200 (unless specified otherwise) is charged along with the course fee for the first semester/year at the time of admission. 

IGNOU offers a two-year MBA programme in General and Banking & Finance specialisations. The eligibility required for different MBA programmes is as follows:

Certain programmes are not allowed under the simultaneous registration. Students are advised to visit
the official prospectus for the same. Additionally, there will be no change in the counseling/ assignment submission/ examination schedule in case dates for the above clash for the courses in which a student has taken admission.

Canddiates wanting to enrol in MBA at IGNOU have to pay the required first year fee amount. The payable amount is prescribed by the open university. IGNOU MBA tuition fee ranges from INR 6,300 to INR 68,000. This fee amount is as per the official website/ sanctioning body. It is still subject to revision and hence, is indicative.

Yes, IGNOU students get placement. However, the percentage of students getting direct placements through IGNOU campus placement cell is less. Importantly, IGNOU has a strong alumni network and through gaining add-on skills, students get jobs through off-campus drives. According, to various online sources, 70% to 80% students get placed every year during IGNOU placements through on-campus and off-campus placement drives. The top recruiters of IGNOU in recent past included leading companies such as Globiva, Radical Minds and Aviva India.

Yes, you can get a job abroad. There are certain organisations that do prefer full-time graduation but getting rejected everywhere should not be the scenario. IGNOU is recognised globally as a university. There may be other reasons for the rejection like in the current scenario, hiring is very specific, so hence, maybe your qualification does not match. The post may require someone with experience. Your skillset may be lacking for the position that you have applied for. Relook at the job posts that you have applied for and then see if there are any other reasons.

Currently, in COVID 19 situation, the job market is very bleak and since you have just done your graduation and if money is not adequate necessary then try doing some additional courses like digital marketing, graphic design, website development. These would be an added advantage and would increase your job prospects too. Well, IGNOU provides distance learning degrees. If you are a graduate from IGNOU you might be able to take admission into some medium level foreign university but it will be a struggle to cope up with the regular programme that too in foreign.

If you wish you go abroad for MBA, it is advisable to take your graduation in regular mode in reputed universities like LPU and then take your chances in many credit transfer programs which can get you into reputed foreign universities and that too with much less expense.

From the academic Year 2022, New Education Scheme is launched, in which after completing 1 year in Graduation You will get a Certificate of completing 1 year, And after 2nd year You will get a Diploma in the Graduation, And for the Degree you have to complete the 3 years and you can also get a research degree after 4th year. This Scheme is Very Useful because if you left the graduation in middle you can continue that after some time when you need with the help of Diploma Certificate etc. Upvote.

Yes, students could take direct admission to a lot of UG and PG programmes offered at IGNOU. IGNOU admissions for many undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as BSc, BA, BCA, MBA, MA, and MSc are based on the merit of the last qualifying exam. IGNOU admission is conducted twice a year. Students should apply for IGNOU admissions 2025 before the last date of admission.

Yes, IGNOU is a trusted and accredited distance education university. It is a central university which was established by an ACT of parliament in 1985. Therefore, a distance education degree from IGNOU is equivalent to a degree granted by any recognised university in India. Also, the degree from IGNOU University is acceptable and valid overseas and in foreign countries with ease. The reason behind this is IGNOU is a recognised university under the UGC and is a governmental university too. Adding further, an IGNOU degree is approved by DEC and AICTE as well.

Indira Gandhi Open University MA fee structure shall include tuition fee, a one-time fee, and a registration fee. The registration fee amount is non-refundable. Candidates have to pay the fee amount after registration for admission confirmation. IGNOU MA tuition fee ranges between INR 7,000 and INR 25,000. The fee payment can be done online via credit card/debit card/net banking. This fee amount is taken from the official website/sanctioning body. Candidates must be pass outs of any bachelor’s degree and/or in the master’s degree in Science/ Social Science/ Commerce/ Humanities with at least 50% aggregate or have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with a specialisation in Science and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% aggregate. In the field of Education, IGNOU offers a B.Ed programme to students who've completed their bachelor's degree in any field. While the minimum duration to pursue B.Ed is two years, the maximum period allowed for completion is five years.

 It is compulsory to carry IGNOU ID-Card when appearing for the exam. However, in case a students forgets to bring the same, he or she can show an identity proof like Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc. Most of the exam centres accept identity proof in such cases but to avoid any kind of conflict, students must carry their IGNOU ID-Card along with an identity proof and admit card.
