IMU Kochi accepts relevant scores of IMU CET/ CAT/ MAT/ CMAT, followed by a counselling process. Moreover, before appearing and securing a valid score in the entrance exam, candidates must complete their bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate from recognised universities (5% relaxation for reserved categories).

The majority of the undergraduate and graduate programmes offered at the Indian Maritime University (IMU) Kochi campus are in maritime-related fields. Since TNEA is only used for engineering admissions in colleges connected to Anna University in Tamil Nadu, results from it are normally not applicable for admission to IMU Kochi.

IMU Kochi has two specialization, one is Port and Shipping Management and the other is International Transportation and Logging Management. These set of programmes aim at training in the maritime and logistic world of managerial skills. The curriculum includes a practice of experience in the maritime industry.

IMU Kochi application process typically begins in the first week of April every year. 

To be eligible for MBA programme at IMU Kochi applicants should possess a Bachelor degree with a cumulative average of at least 50 percent of a recognised university. Moreover, candidates should have got 50 percent marks in English at class 10, class 12 and graduation level. The diverse students are also allowed to apply as long as they fulfill the requirement at the time of admission, which in this case is the final year student.

The eligibility include 55% aggregate during Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The other requirement include 50% in English in 10/12th/ Degree examination. Alll the candidates need to qualify for a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

MBA in Port and Shipping Management is 304 in 2022 and 357 in 2023.Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% in aggregate marks from recognised universities and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / UG Degree. There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.Indian Maritime University (IMU) offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of maritime studies. placement package for Bsc nautical Science student is 36k-45k. and for DNS is 33k-35k, for MBA students package is 20k - 25k, for B.Tech placement is poor in chennai campus 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 60% aggregate in PCM and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th examination.Every year approximately 1 lac students give IMU CET exam (this is not official data). And around 16000 students qualifies the exam. This year in 2018 also 16000 students qualified the exam

Difficulty level of IMU CET is moderate. Candidates must prepare using the syllabus thoroughly to pass the exam and get admisison to the desired course.
