IIFT Delhi Admission Overview 2025
IIFT Delhi admission to all the courses (Except for certificate courses, EMBA & MBA) is through an institute-based entrance exam. Moreover, for MBA (IB) and MBA (BA), IIFT Delhi admission is through the Common Aptitude Test (CAT. IIFT Delhi accepts applications in online mode. Additionally, for PhD, the application shall be submitted offline. Below is the overview of IIFT Delhi admission process:
1. Appear for CAT Exam:
Aspirants must first register for CAT conducted by IIMs. Aspirants who pass CAT are shortlisted for IIFT MBA.
2. Apply for IIFT MBA Programme
Aspirants after CAT registration have to apply separately for IIFT MBA programme on the official website of IIFT admission portal. Aspirants also have to pay an application fee to complete the process.
3. Shortlisting for Final Selection Round
IIFT selects candidates for final selection based on CAT score and gender diversity.
4. Participate in Final Selection Round
Selected aspirants are further called for a group discussion and personal interview round. Candidates may also participate in WAT or Written Ability Test for final selection.
5. Final Merit List & Admission
The final merit list is prepared based on composite score of the candidates. The score is calculated considering CAT score, performance of aspirants in GD/ PI/ WAT, academic history, work experience and gender diversity.
6. Admission Offer
Candidates are offered admission to IIFT MBA based on the final merit list.

IIFT Delhi accepts CAT scores for MBA (IB & BA) specialisations. Earlier the admission was through the IIFT exam. However, in an official notification, the institute has announced that will accept the national-level exam score now. After the conclusion of the entrance test, candidates shall be shortlisted for further selection rounds. Shortlisted candidates are further required to participate in the written test, group discussion and personal interview round. The final selection is done based on overall performance in the selection rounds.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi offers three certificate courses. Classes for these courses are conducted on weekends. The duration of the certificate programmes is four-months. The NTA course admissions canbe completed in online mode.For the NTA application process, candidates are required to pay the NTA application fees of INR 2,500 for the General category or INR 1,000 for Reserved category. Yes, IIFT cut offs for MBA-International Business and Business Analytics admission differ category wise. For General category students, the IIFT cut off is higher than that for Reserved category students. For example, the IIFT 2022 cut off for General category candidates was 52.75 but for SC/ST candidates, it was 42.75. in 2023, the qualifying cut off was 35 percentile for General-EWS and NC-OBC categories, it is 35 percentile. For SC/ST/PwD/KashmiriMigrants/Non-Migrants, the IIFT cut offs 2023 was 30 percentile. Selection for the personal interview round is based on these cut offs.
The Reserved category students also get the benefit of Reservation quota fixed by the Government of India. A certain number of seats are available for Reserved category candidates in the management programmes.
