IIFT 2025 Exam: Dates, Registration, Syllabus, Pattern, Question Paper, Preparation, Result, Cut Offs

The IIFT exam is a common aptitude test conducted for admission to MBA International Business and MBA in Business Analytics courses offered by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi, Kolkata.

The IIFT exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the institute. The role of NTA is to only conduct the exam and prepare result. Selection of candidates for admission is done by the institute. The entrance test is similar to other MBA entrance exams in India. The IIFT question paper consists of questions from Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. Duration of IIFT exam is two hours. IIFT accepts foreign/NRI/PIO candidates for admission on the basis of GMAT score. For the academic year 2024-25, the institute did not conduct the entrance exam.

The number of applicants for IIFT entrance exam is usually around 30,000. The IIFT entrance exam is conducted in December every year. However, for 2024-25 session, it was not conducted. For 2025 exam, information is awaited. It will be released in October 2024. Check the table below for some important highlights of IIFT exam:

IIFT 2023 registration data for reference

• Candidate applying for IIFT-MBA must have a Bachelor’s degree of three years duration in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent.
• For General category students, the minimum score requirement is 50 per cent aggregate in graduation and for SC/ST/PwD category students it is 45 per cent aggregate.
• Candidates in their final year of bachelor's degree awaiting results are also eligible to apply. Such candidates will have to submit the final year degree by October 7, 2024.
• Candidates with professional degrees equivalent to Bachelor's degree are also eligible apply (appear for CAT) for IIFT MBA admission.

IIFT 2025 application form submission process is online. Candidates have to fill the IIFT 2025 registration cum application form at the institute website. Check the IIFT application process 2025 below:

• Visit the official website of IIFT Delhi
• Click on 'Apply for IIFT MBA (IB) 2025-27' and select new registration
• Fill in the basic details and click on submit
• Enter password and choose a security question
• Note down the system generated application number to log in again
• Log in again and fill the IIFT 2025 application form with valid details
• Upload photo, signature and certificates
• Pay application fee via debit/credit card, net banking or e-wallet

To prepare for IIFT 2025 exam, one needs to make a plan in which, ample time is allotted to each topic of the syllabus. Start with studying fundamental concepts of important topics of every section. Once the IIFT syllabus is covered, move to solving IIFT practice tests and sample papers. For Quantitative Aptitude section, one needs to be thorough with the concepts and formulae as well as all types of questions. For Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability, one needs to practice sample questions from the beginning to the end of the IIFT exam preparation phase. General Awareness section can be picked up in the last leg of IIFT exam preparation as it is memory-based and easy to handle. The IIFT admission process includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of their exam score for a personality assessment round, which includes extempore and personal interview. To know more about the IIFT admission and selection process 2025, read below:

• Candidates who clear the IIFT cut offs (for 2024 academic session, the cut off will be based on CAT 2023 exam) are shortlisted for Extempore and Personal Interview
• For Extempore candidates are provided a topic related to general or business affairs. The average time allotted to draft an essay of around 300 words is 20 minutes. 
• In GD round (if it is conducted) candidates are divided into groups of 10-12 and given a topic. Candidates are then expected to take initiative, communicate efficiently and present their ideas effectively. 
• Last round is the PI round where the panelists interview the candidates. The final result about selection for admission is communicated to the candidates through email.

The institute shortlists candidates for MBA admission (PI and extempore) on the basis of minimum score in the entrance exam.
