The institute has a library with maritime books and digital resources and hostel and mess facilities are available for students. Review of Diploma in Nautical Science course at IMI.
Placements: The institute is now owned by owners of Fleet Management, so placements are pretty much 100% at this point. By the end of the course, all students got placed in our batch. Some are already sponsored and some got it afterwards. Students mostly are from M.Sc and Fleet courses here.
Infrastructure: It is a small but clean and cozy hostel with good Wi-Fi and AC. Regular cleaning takes place. The only downside is the AC. It has a clean mess with good food. The market is nearby. The nearest metro is 5 minutes away (20 minutes by walk). It has pretty decent football, volleyball, and tennis grounds.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly ex-captains and some are even sailing captains who are highly knowledgeable. Exams are of decent difficulty and they teach everything as per the syllabus. The seamanship instructors or the wardens are on a bit of the other side in terms of communication but it's still manageable.
Other: Overall, it is a good choice for Maritime training. It has good food, good infrastructure, and good faculty members.

This college is okay to survive in, but it's not a very good option.
Placements: Students in my batch were sent for their interview to one of the companies, but the company hasn't responded to them yet. The top companies like M.Sc. Fleet, Demico, Wallem come every year to pick their candidates. Almost 98% of students get selected in M.Sc. Fleet, Demico, Dockendale, Wallem, and many more as cadets.
Infrastructure: The hostel is quite well-maintained. Washrooms are cleaned every day, and cleanliness is maintained, which is quite impressive. There is a small ground for playing football, and good courts for volleyball and badminton. The mess is also quite well.
Faculty: Teachers here are all good and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good. Talking about semester exams, this college provides better practice and helps us prepare for the final IMU exams. 50% is the minimum marks to pass this DNS course. The academic block is quite small but fine.

I'm satisfied with placements, average infrastructure, and fee is a little bit high too.
Placements: The placement at IMI is 100% for eligible candidates, and as the acquiring of feet parent company, the placement will be good. Currently, in the 4th year, all the cadets are placed in good companies except 2 cadets, as they are not eligible for company exams.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are average. Classrooms and library are good. Labs are average and mess food is very good. For medical, IMI gives Tata medical card to all the cadets we can avail our medical expenses up to 4 lakhs. Game and sport facilities are average.
Faculty: Faculty members in IMI are good, I can say above average. Some professors are from the same field (like captain and chief engineer ), but some are from mechanical and another branch for workshops like subjects. Semester exams are above average as the university is IMU, so the papers are designed by them.
Other: There are no fests conducted on campus as IMI is a training academy for cadets, so they follow rules regulated by IMU.

All about admission into Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies.
Placements: Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies provides 100% placements as it has its own partnership with a ship management company. After the completion of the course, with no obligations, the candidate will be placed on a ship and need to do sailing for 6 months, for which they will get a stipend of approximately 500 dollars as a junior engineer. After completing the cadetship, students can attend further class exams for promotions.
Infrastructure: Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies is one of the best institutes in terms of infrastructure. It has an academic block, an administration block, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a swimming pool, a lab block, workshops, a ship on campus, etc. Hostel cabins have enough space to accommodate two to three students. There is a Wi-Fi connection for each cabin. It has proper ventilation and has proper maintenance from time to time.
Faculty: Faculty members of the Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies are experienced professionals in the maritime sector. They teach cadets based on their experience and knowledge in the maritime industry. The course curriculum is managed by the Indian Maritime University, which includes all subjects regarding marine and engineering. The level of examinations conducted is as per requirements of the Indian Maritime Institute. Students have to clear all the subjects within the due course.
Other: I chose this course because it provides a different vision in life and helps to do something different from normal engineering colleges. This institute conducts fests and events on every festival and program. It also conducts extracurricular activities like swimming, sports, yoga, etc.

It is one of the best decision to take admission here. It has good location in heart of the city.
Placements: International Maritime Institute is a Maritime Institute affiliated to Indian Maritime University, Chennai. It offers pre-sea training for DNS students. The placement rate of my college is 100%. Almost every student 98% is pre-sponsored by the world's top shipping companies such as D'amico, feet management, wallem shipping, M.Sc. PIL, MMSI, and many more. Students are recruited as deck cadets for almost 18 months of sea training.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided for our course are top notch. There is an aviation lab, bridge simulator, seamanship lab, and the only ship on campus (a replica of a real ship) in North India, to give real-time experience to the cadets. The hostel facilities are also good with a Wi-Fi speed of 200 Mbps. It has a capacity of about 250 students. Rooms are well-furnished with beds and almirahs. The food quality is also very good prepared by qualified chefs. You get both veg and non-veg food with a mess capacity of 200 people at a time.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-qualified. Most of them are retired captains of the merchant navy, also we have faculty who have served in the Indian navy as captains, and commanders. They are knowledgeable. The course or the study material provided is curriculum relevant helping the students to become industry ready. Semester exams of the college are average and the pass percentage is 50%.
