Jadavpur University where the dreams come true.

Placements: The placement offered by the university is amazing. Various giant companies come here, like Google, Facebook, etc. The highest package is 2.4cr per annum, the lowest is 6 LPA, and the median is about 12 LPA. About 70 to 80 percent of students get placement through the placement cell.

Infrastructure: The course infrastructure is very lavish and nicely decorated with current technologies. All the current happenings are taught to us to survive in the current times. The classrooms are also well decorated with modern teaching aids. Hostels are also available for those in need, and the food is good. Gym, sports activities, and club activities are also available, and most of them are free.

Faculty: The teachers are really well-educated and knowledgeable, and they always try to show the right path to the students. This course curriculum is completely relevant and makes us industry-ready. Semesters are not very tough, but they are quite challenging. The pass percentage is 40 percent for theory subjects and 50 percent for sessional subjects.

Other: I chose this course because it helps me think, and I think it is nutritious for my brain to grow because this subject needs creativity. I think the work environment should be better for this course. There are lots of events like Turn Sanskriti, Teach Fest, etc., that happen throughout the year.

Jadavpur University is one of the best in West Bengal as well as in India.

Placements: There are not many placements in architecture, and only about 5% to 10% of students got placed. The highest salary package offered here is 10 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Other students start their own firms. Top roles offered in our course are project manager and designer. From our course, every student got an internship.

Infrastructure: Our campus has free Wi-Fi facilities. Most of the classrooms have air-conditioners. The library has above 6 lacks books. The campus has a playground also. The hostel is very good here with the lowest price. The quality of food served is also good in the canteen at a low price.

Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful and friendly. Most of them have a doctorate degree, so the teaching quality is very good here. They made students good in their respective fields. So they easily get a placement or job in their respective field.

I am very satisfied with this college because of its excellent professors.

Placements: In this university, very few architecture students opt for placements. Some take IT jobs while some join architecture firms as junior architects with a starting salary of Rs 22,000-25,000 per month. The other students opt for higher studies. Students can earn a handsome amount per month from various scholarships.

Infrastructure: In this university, they provide students to avail good spacious studios with ample lighting and ventilation for classes. It has good hostel accommodation, and the food served is at a minimal cost. This university is the best place to study architecture, if someone has financial issues as the course fee is almost nil.

Faculty: Faculty members are excellent with extraordinary knowledge and teaching skills. Architecture life becomes easy with the help of our professors. Students need to work hard for sessional than theory. The theory is easy to pass, and not very much hard work is required.

Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in it. This course has vast scope to explore and creative imagination for the students. In this university, the fee structure is very negligible. Students has lots of scopes to grow.

It is a great college with a good learning environment in all aspects.

Placements: I am from 2016-2021 batch. About 2.5% of the students in our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 26 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 13.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. A top recruiting company of our course is DLF India. A top role offered in our course is an assistant architect. All students got an internship in different firms all over india like EFNRA, DMA, HCDC, etc. Overall placements do not happen at B.Arch level. Students go for further studies, i.e., for M.Arch in India, IIts and SPA, Delhi mostly or abroad. The job scenario at B.Arch level is offered a salary that ranges between Rs. 17,000-22,000 per month. Minimum 2-3 years of experience is needed to get a decent job in any company. Though companies are often there during campusing, students opt for higher studies only.

Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like library, classrooms, smart classrooms, AV rooms, seminar rooms, jury rooms, Wi-Fi, computer lab, construction lab, carpentry lab, mechanical lab, etc. The college provides hostel facility for students. Facilities like 24x7 water supply, food for 3 times a day, large rooms and dorms, 24x7 medical facilities, games room and sports room. Quality of food served in the mess is good. Playgrounds and courts are available for games like football, basketball and badminton. Other activities like clubs are available for mountaineering, photography, drawing, painting, etc.

Faculty: All teachers in our college are helpful and knowledgeable in their own field of study. Their teaching quality is excellent as we get help at every stage of our design and other subjects. They have a good learning experience in terms of design, but little innovation in terms of construction is needed. There were some teachers encouraging in that. Overall we learnt a lot so far and are still learning with even the basics getting cleared now and then. The course curriculum is relevant. The curriculum has been set by the council of architecture and the systematic approach at each year. JU is very much helpful in getting the students prepared for the industries.

Other: The college organised three fests and events, i.e., Arena, U-turn and Sanskriti.

It is one of the best government colleges in all aspects.

Placements: The highest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 22,000 per month. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Wipro, and Toshiba. All the students got internships in various design firms in all over India. The highest salary package offered in our course is 7.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered in our course is 5.5 LPA. Top roles offered are a junior architect.

Infrastructure: All facilities in our college are state-of-the-art, including Wi-Fi, labs, studios, and the library. There are a departmental and a central library available. Gym and halls are also available here. Medical facilities are available 24x7, and there are separate games and sports arenas. There are five canteens which serve healthy food.

Faculty: I am from the architecture department. Teachers in our college are well-qualified, and also the other staff. The course curriculum is detailed, and it is very useful in preparing students for professional practice. The course includes a structured balance of theory and practical subjects and scours scope of a variety of other fields as well.

Amazing faculty, excellent facilities, nominal fees. In short, it is a privilege to be part of JU.

Placements: Many national and international placements have been made from this department in the past years. Firms take placements from our college at the posts for junior architects and many more with a salary package of Rs. 3,00,000 PA to Rs. 15,00,000 PA. We have placement coordinators in this department from the past few years which makes the hassle of searching jobs easier as they bring the firms directly to the doorstep of our university. Many students are tempted to go for a Masters degree in this course for better job opportunities. The quality of teaching is excellent in this college which makes getting admissions for Masters in foreign colleges through scholarships a piece of cake for our students. The firms like DLF, Maheswari Architects, L&T, Abin Design Studio, Square Consultancy, Architect Hafeez Contractor, HOK, Anjan Gupta Architects, Gensler, Sanjay Puri Architects and many many more firms offer placements to our students. Nearly 30% of our students choose a job after their UG while the rest 70% move abroad or to SPA/IITs for completing their Masters.

Infrastructure: 5 architectural design studios for 5 different years of UG are present. Audio-visual room for presentations, seminars, reviews are available. Departmental library is stocked with books from various fields of architecture, design, interiors, structure, civil, and many enriching magazines. Apart from this, there is a 3 storeyed central library stocked with books from various departments, fields, authors, genres, exams. Books can be issued from here. Reading rooms are also provided for students. 3 Wi-Fi connections are available for students on campus. The classrooms are provided with a projector, whiteboard, blackboard for extended and precise teaching. Resources such as computer labs for AutoCAD, carpentry and iron workshops for on-hand experience and practice for the students are present. A huge playground with a cricket pitch is provided for the students with an attached basketball ground. Arrangements are made for indoor games like carrom, chess, table-tennis in the student's union room. Gym facility is provided on campus which can be used by the students of various departments. Apart from these, various sports clubs have been initiated among which the most popular is the JUMC Club (Jadavpur University Mountaineering Club). There are 5 canteens in the campus with fresh and good quality food. A lot of variety has been incorporated in the menu and for very nominal prices. A water ATM and an SBI ATM have been provided on campus especially for students' use. The hostel rooms are spacious with good quality food that too at a very nominal price since this is a government college.

Faculty: The faculty here are very helpful, encouraging and understanding. They help students understand the subject very thoroughly. Students are free to reach out any teacher regarding any problem on any subject at any time. Teachers here generally hold a doctorate in the field they teach, which is very helpful for students as they enrich us with a lot of in-depth knowledge of the subject. The teacher to student ratio in our department is 6:1. We also have externals to review our final designs, thesis, etc. at the end of every assignment. Our teachers take us for factory visits, site studies, case studies, construction site visits for exposure. We also have 3 tours per batch for about 10 days to any Indian city or region with architectural history, for measured drawings. Apart from this, the students have to complete an internship of 6 months at an architectural firm, with a monthly stipend for real industrial exposure in the field. This is done at the start of the 4th year of UG course and at the end, we have to submit a report on the work we have done in the internship. The course curriculum is enough for students to prepare to crack tough exams like GATE. No extra coaching is required by the students. The class notes are enough for preparation.

Other: Various departments other than engineering, like arts and science are also a part of JU. We have an OAT for cultural fests. We have 2 auditoriums on campus. JU has hosted its own independent Ted Talk. DRDO research is also a part of this college. Jadavpur University ranks 6th in the country for architecture department. Presently, we have 2 campuses, both equally beautiful. A 58-acre main campus is at Jadavpur, and another 26 acres campus is at Salt Lake-Kolkata. A third campus is on its way at Jadavpur, just opposite the main campus.
