Decent college that weighs in on academics.
Placements: \Most of the students are placed in the IT sector. The percentage of students getting placed in the core sector is very low, with only 2 or 3 students placed. The rest of the students go for training or higher education. Most of the recruiters are from companies such as Infosys and TCS.
Infrastructure: There are many computers available for both CSE and ECE, with Intel Core i5 systems. Two 3D printers were introduced last year (2025). There is a dedicated CSE block where the IIT used to operate. Ahalia Hospital is 3 km away, and consultation is free for students.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable. Many of them hold PhDs in their respective fields. They are experienced and have been in the college since its inception. Semester exams are mostly easy and generally include questions that are repeated from previous years. Analytical question papers are comparatively tougher.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) - Batch of 2029
Offered by Mar Athanasius College of Engineering

I do like my college. I love my faculty advisory. I love the friends and the college is very pretty.
Placements: The placements are very average even though it is a highly ranked college out of KEAM colleges. The number of students getting placed is really low. For Computer Science it is average and from what I have seen Data Science students got the most placements out of everyone. When it comes to core branches it is below average. It's got like students don't get placed they do but it's less. For CS I think some students got placed in IBM and for civil they got in Shobha and all.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi but it is restricted. The classrooms are very good. Our class is in the electronics block which is a very good classroom. We have washrooms and a water filter (with cold water) on every floor and also in our block we have bathrooms with mirrors in them. They have pads and a pad disposal area and when it comes to the hostel ladies' hostel is bad but male hostel is very nice. In the ladies hostel you have to stay in 14-person dorms in the 2nd year and they have a curfew of 7:00 PM and food is better.
Faculty: Now that college has become autonomous I believe the curriculum is better and the faculty is very good. People do say that CS faculty is bad but you see some people do not come as nice. The teaching style might not be to our liking but they are always willing to teach.
Other: If people come under the management quota I don't think it's worth your money but otherwise I believe it is nice. They do teach and some teachers really want you to grow as individuals but again that is up to people. When it comes to fests we have Takshak and Sanskriti. During those times there are many programs you get to be at college till 2:00 AM doing deco works and they do have sports but the clubs are very active they conduct programs all the time but our college life depends on your friends.

Review of Nirmala College of Engineering.
Placements: Placements are really average. Most students do not get placements.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel under the college. The hostels are run by private people. The experience is very bad. I hated my first year in the hostel. The warden is a really bad person and does not even listen to what students want to say. The hostel is also about 10 km away from the college.
Faculty: Faculty is average. The teaching is not good, and they stress us too much. The principal is not a very good person. Some teachers are nice, but their teaching methods are not great. They try, but we cannot understand much. I really want to get out of here.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion, but it is now making me reconsider. I would love to have a good lab, but they do not have one. The events are nice because it is a big campus with five colleges combined, so the events are always grand. Please do not come to this college if you are serious about your studies. I do not know what to say. I hate it here, and other people who are here hate this place too. So, there is not much more to say.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by Government Engineering College, Thrissur
3.4

A good college, definitely the best option for pursuing Chemical Engineering after NITC.
Placements: The college has decent placements. Companies like L&T, Tata, and Reliance are the usual top recruiters. However, placements depend on the skills of the student. Most interviews include basic fundamental questions from high school and higher secondary level. In chemical engineering, topics like heat exchange and distillation columns are very important.
Infrastructure: The physical labs are in pretty poor condition. The digital labs, including computer labs, are better but still not the best. The research labs are excellent. In the regular labs, most equipment is decades old and barely works. The hostel is good, and the food and room facilities together cost up to Rs. 3,000 per month. Hostel admission depends on income and distance from home.
Faculty: Teachers are actually quite good. Most faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive if students approach them. The course alone does not make students industry-ready. Students need to connect with senior professors and do internships in companies like BPCL, FACT, TCC, and HOCL. Semester exams are generally easy if students study even a small portion of the syllabus. The pass percentage is above 80%.
Other: I chose this course mainly due to my interest in chemistry. I initially planned to go for B.Sc. Chemistry, but then I thought engineering would be better since I can branch out to multiple areas of expertise, basically making my career options more versatile. The best part of the course is that the semester is quite fast. We are forced to figure things out in a short span of time. The main thing I am frustrated with the condition of labs and the exam evaluation by KTU. The college conducts a cultural fest called Dyuthi.

Our college is not good for placements.
Placements: 30–40 percent of students got placed in this course. This university had 3–4 colleges under it. It was affiliated with AKTU. Placements were good. The highest package offered was above 15 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 1.1 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course were Vivo, HCL, TCS, etc. No internship was provided by the college to BBA students. Roles like manager, CSO, CSE, etc., were offered to students.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was not very good, but it was okay. Labs were good, but not used much due to a lack of proper equipment. Classrooms were very good and spacious. The library was also very good, and books could be issued easily. Hostels were well-maintained. The mess food quality was decent.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful if students needed them. They were well-experienced. There were some good and some less experienced teachers, so it depended on the situation. Semester exams were not that difficult. If we focused on previous years’ papers, we could get a higher SGPA.
Other: There was scholarship support for all eligible students. Monthly events were conducted by seniors. Many small events and festivals were held regularly.

Good college for students who want to focus mainly on their studies.
Placements: About 70-75 percent of students from the Computer Science and Engineering department got placed. In 2026, the highest package is 9.56 LPA. While the lowest package is 3 LPA and the average package is 4 LPA-5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for Computer Science and Engineering are TCS, Infosys, and South Indian Bank. Most of the students got internships in companies such as NEST SFO, Keltron, etc. One student got an internship at Meesho. Top roles offered in this course are mainly as software developers.
Infrastructure: RSET provides good infrastructure and facilities. Every lab of the Computer Science and Engineering department is well-equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and projectors. The library is well-maintained with Wi-Fi connectivity and a wide range of books. It is the best place for self-study. The quality of facilities in the hostel is good. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is decent. There is space for indoor games as well as outdoor games. Events such as sports day are held. Medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. Teaching quality is pretty good as they provide almost all the study materials needed. The course curriculum is relevant, and it has the potential to make students ready. In case of difficulty, semester exams are between average and above average. In 2026, the pass percentage is 84.39 percent.
Other: I mainly chose B.Tech in CSE due to its increasing demand. The best thing about this course is that there are numerous ways for skill development. Events such as technical events occur in every semester. Fests occur annually. Campus surroundings are pleasant.
