Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology Gorakhpur was established in 2013. It was earlier known as Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College. It is a state university and is accredited with NAAC 'A' grade becoming the first state university in UP to get this grade from NAAC.

MMMUT Gorakhpur is approved by UGC of India, registered under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. Additionally, it is an AICTE-approved institution and secured top 100 ranking in the Engineering, University, and State Public University categories of NIRF 2024. Improving day by day. Infrastructure is improving whether it may be hostels or main buildings.

Placements: The placement scenario is not good, if not the worst. CSE and IT have average placements of 6.5–7.5 LPA. The highest on-campus package is below 20 LPA. Mechanical Engineering has seen a better placement rate of 90%+, with packages ranging from 6–10 LPA. CE and CHE have average placements below 5 LPA. EE and ECE have received better offers in recent years. However, no major product-based companies visit the campus.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is kind of average. There are no very modern buildings, and the lecture halls are old-school. However, renovation is going on. Most lecture halls are equipped with AC. The hostels are also not that good, as they are old-school and do not have AC rooms. Most rooms are shared by two, three, or four students. However, renovation is ongoing here as well. One thing that does not make sense is the cutoff time. The library closes at 8 PM, and even earlier on Saturdays and Sundays. Girls have a cutoff time of 8 PM for the second, third, and fourth years, and 6 PM for the first year. The cafeteria was closed but has recently started operating again. There is only one stationery shop. Everything happens in the MPH, which is the only place available for functions.

Faculty: Faculty is good, and the curriculum is updated. In CSE and IT, there are no unnecessary machine labs in the first year. The administration is also kind of helpful. Of course, some people are also there who create a lot of problems for students. Teachers are more or less helpful. The semester exams are moderately to highly difficult. Previous year question papers (PYQs) are very relevant.

Other: The college is more or less good. The coding culture is good, with frequent hackathons and coding competitions. Various cultural, literary, and music competitions are also held. Techsrijan and Abhyudaya are the two fests organized by the college. The fests are average but are improving year by year. The campus crowd is an issue. Connectivity is good, and public transport is easily available just outside the college. The campus surroundings have many cafes, restaurants, and food vans.

Placements: The majority of students get placed, but the packages in core branches are not very high. Students can prepare for GATE for M.Tech. or go for defence exams like AFCAT and CDS. They can also go into the teaching field after completing their core branches. Placements are good for Computer Science and Information Technology.

Infrastructure: Facilities are not top-notch, but at such a low cost, they are totally worth it. You get a library, ITRC, and Wi-Fi across the college and hostels. The new hostels are very good compared to the older ones, so they are very good for freshers. The mess facilities are average.

Faculty: Faculty members and professors are highly qualified. The curriculum is updated according to the new era. The marking is also based on relative grading. You can easily clear minor exams by studying only previous year questions (PYQs). However, you have to study hard for major exams. You can also easily score marks in internal assessments.

Other: For core branches, the college can improve practical learning facilities. The cafeteria and stalls are not available until late at night, so that can also be improved. The events are great. There are plenty of them, but you may not get the full co-ed college experience.

Decent college for mid-range ranks in JEE around 80,000.

Placements: Placements are decent enough. Companies like TSC, Accenture, Josh, and IBM do visit campus. Along with that, there are many startups and some big companies like Deloitte too. Students also get placement offcampus in Amazon, PayPal, Zomato, Uber, etc.

Infrastructure: I am a day scholar, and every day scholar is picked up by a bus at the stop. As for infrastructure, some labs are top-notch, while some are average and improving. The class are full AC, along with smart boards, so the infrastructure is good. A library is also available.

Faculty: Some teachers are really great while some are just there to read names of topics. Curriculum is very modern, but isn't taught in the best way. Exams are almost easy to medium. PYQs are important and you can easily maintain 8 CGPA with not much effort.

Best college to choose if you are serious about having a happy college life.

Placements: I am in my final year, and my 7th semester has just started. In my branch, 10 to 12 students have been placed so far out of a total strength of approximately 180 students. However, my college has a good placement record up to the last semester, so I hope everyone gets their dream job by the end. The highest package so far this year is 18 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is around 6 to 7 LPA. My course offers broader opportunities for internships and placements. Most students in my course are also preparing for GATE for their higher studies.

Infrastructure: My college has excellent infrastructure. There is air conditioning in our lecture halls. There are dedicated spaces for labs and classes. Apart from this, facilities are kept clean. The hostels are good enough to live in for the cost. Overall, it has been a good experience.

Faculty: The course is designed according to placement requirements and the GATE syllabus. There are extracurricular activities as well, and we get enough exposure to the outside world. The syllabus is extensive for Electronics and Communication Engineering, but this is also necessary for electronics students.

Other: I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because it offers opportunities in both software and hardware jobs. I also want to pursue higher studies with a good GATE score.

It has good placements, tech events, and hostel facilities, but the mess food is bad.

Placements: I think the placement percentage is high, around 70 percent in Information Technology, but the average and lowest packages are low, around 6.5 LPA and 2 to 3 LPA respectively. The highest package is around 14 to 15 LPA for campus placements. Outside campus placements are higher, with the highest reaching around 60 LPA, and most people taking outside placements get around 20 to 30 LPA. However, the number of people getting outside placements is very small, maybe 5 to 8 percent maximum. Top recruiters are TCS, Infra, and Wipro, and the selection rate is 30 to 40 percent, with around 20 to 30 percent of those getting pre-placement offers.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure include Wi-Fi all over the campus, AI and computer labs, digital classrooms, an air-conditioned library, and a good campus full of trees which is nice for a stroll, along with many playgrounds. Talking about the hostel, recently all hostel rooms are good, but the mess is the worst thing—the food is very bad, with repeated incidents of insects found in the food and very rude mess workers. Medical facilities are also bad and always closed about half of the time. Sports facilities are good, with many grounds in the college and in the hostel itself, game equipment is available, and a gym is also available.

Faculty: The teachers are good, helpful, funny, and very supportive compared to other branches. The curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready, nearly every year, industry-important subjects or topics are added to the exams, and less important things are removed from the college exam syllabus. For example, this year in 2026, two AI subjects are added in the second year, which are the Use of AI Tools and Fundamentals of AI, while the COA syllabus is reduced. Semester exams are easy and no one fails, so the passing rate is close to 100 percent, and the average CGPA is around 7.5 to 8.

Other: Information Technology is the best course in my college as it has the most chill faculty in the entire college, as well as the best placements, which are above Computer Science. Regarding events and fests, they are not that good overall, but the tech events are really very good. The scholarship condition is very good as there is a dedicated cell in the college if you meet the criteria. Outside the college, there are mostly cafes and gyms with nothing else, and the surrounding area is mostly like a jungle. If I suggest an improvement, it is that no internship opportunities are provided by the college for first- and second-year students.

I am quite satisfied with my college life.

Placements: Most of those who got placed have a CG above 7.5 and decent knowledge of subjects. The average package is 6.5 LPA to 7 LPA. The placement ratio looks good, only students above 7.5 CGPA are allowed to sit for placements, and a few students go for GATE.

Infrastructure: Workshops and smart boards for better understanding of subjects. Mess food is decent. Canteen is decent as well. There are lab assistants as well for each lab who excel in their field.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and well qualified. Most of them have done PhD in their respective subjects and have a lot of teaching experience. The courses are relevant if you want to prepare for GATE. The teachers are also very supportive if you have interest in their subject. The teachers are knowledgeable about their respective subjects.

Other: Just wanted to do something a little different from the crowd. Everyone is choosing CSE even if they have interest or not. I also had an interest in mechanics and all, so that's why I chose this course.

To apply for Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology course admissions 2026, candidates have to first apply on the official website of the respective entrance exam accepted by the university and appear for the same. After the commencement of all the exams, candidates have to apply for a university-level counselling process for the final seat allocation. Find below the detailed application process for all the UG & PG courses offered at MMMUT Gorakhpur:

Candidates qualified in the respective entrance exams have to register for the MMMUT online counselling process and pay the counselling fee of INR 2,500 (valid for all courses). The detailed registration process for MMNUT counselling is mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website at (mmmut.ac.in) and generate the login credentials.

Step 2: Open the application form by using the login credentials, fill the form with all the relevant details and submit the scores of the respective entrance exam.

Step 3: Completed the registration by paying the counselling fee of INR 2,500.

Step 4: After successful payment of the counselling fee, the candidate is required to fill in the choices in order of his/ her preference.

Note: After locking the choices, the final result of seat allotment will be uploaded on the University Website. After successful seat allotment, the candidate must upload all the required relevant documents online for document verification.
