The university offers MSc in 21 specialisations. The course is available on-campus and by the university-affiliated colleges. Some of the MSc specialisations are mentioned below:

Admission to the PG-level programme is based on MGU CAT score. The entrance examination is conducted by the university for PG courses. After the entrance test, a merit list is published to declare the names of selected candidates

The MGU MSc course aspirants with a valid BSc or equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate are eligible to apply. However, it is necessary that the candidate did the degree course in the relevant stream. The eligibility criteria for some of the MSc specialisations is mentioned below for reference:

The total course fee includes multiple components such as the tuition fee, enrolment fee, library fee, security deposit, etc. MSc courses fee in MGU University & its affiliated colleges ranges between INR 1,900 and INR 2 lakh. The fee range given here is a cumulative of courses offered by the university on-campus as well as through its affiliated colleges, hence may vary. As per the NIRF report 2025, the median salary for UG 5-year and PG 2-year couses in 2024 stood at INR 4 LPA and INR 5.5 LPA. Earlier, the median salary offered to UG 5-year students in 2023 was INR 3.6 LPA and for PG 2-year it was INR 6 LPA.  

The University has released the NIRF report 2025. The report incorporates 2024 statistics. As per report, 455 PG-2 year and 26 UG-5 year students were placed during the 2024 placements. The median salary offered to UG-5 year and PG-2 year students was INR 4 LPA and INR 5.5 LPA, respectively.

MG University placement report 2025 is not released. However, according to MGU Kerala NIRF report 2025, the median package offered during MG University UG 5-year and PG 2-year placements 2024 stood at INR 4 LPA and INR 5.5 LPA, respectively. Apart from this, 26 students out of 38 students were placed during MG University UG 5-year placements 2024. 

Yes, the university offers admission based on national and university-based entrance exams. There are some courses which are offered on the basis of merit scores. MGU admission to the UG courses is done on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. MGU Kerala conducts a Common Admission Test (majorly known as MGU CAT) for admission to all PG courses. However, it also accepts several national-level entrance exams for MBA and PhD admissions.

In addition to this, MG University also offers distance learning courses through its Center For Online Education (COE). MG University admissions to all the programmes offered by the university and the affiliated colleges are conducted through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP).

Ragging in any form is a cognizable offence and is banned in MG University, Roorkee. The college premises has strict laws against the student found guilty of any act such as abusing, assaulting, threatening, teasing and embarrassment to new students, among others.
