Once upon a time, the department was at its peak, but it is now in the early stages of decline.
Placements: There were forty students in our batch, and none of them have jobs currently. Most are pursuing a master's degree, some are preparing for the civil service, and some have gone abroad for higher studies. You have at least a master's degree in the field of archaeology.
Infrastructure: Hostel conditions are getting better every year. Hostels have Wi-Fi, hot water, and a common room. But there are restrictions on girls in-and-out times. The hostel doesn't allow electronic appliances such as a water boiler or an extender. All in all, it's good.
Faculty: The department is lacking professors and lecturers in specific topics. Currently, the department has only one professor. Many posts have remained vacant since 2010. Only temporary assistant professors are hired. The department lacks funding for basic amenities such as callipers and study materials.
Other: The department has an excellent environment. The department has an extensive collection of archaeological remains and academic books and articles.

A Royal College with Simple Values.
Placements: All the students got internships. All of the students were admitted to the same college for Masters or other reputed institutions. The faculty is one of the best in the world with visiting faculty members from Cambridge and Oxford coming in. The curriculum is mainly based on those taught in Cambridge, Princeton and other reputed colleges around the world.
Infrastructure: There are enough classrooms. The labs are air conditioned and we have the best training and learning facilities in the country. The faculty is well-equipped with its own computer labs, xerox centers, canteens, and a huge space for recreation. The best part is that the building is an actual palace.
Faculty: The course curriculum is based on the Cambridge College patterns and the teachers are some of the best archaeologists of the world. The student to faculty ratio is 12:1. We were taken to excavations across the state of Gujarat and given hands on experience.
Other: Each faculty hosts its college festival during different times of the year, there is free Wi-Fi, the crowd is cosmopolitan and comes from different parts of the country.

The campus life is boring.
Placements: Not really any placements done, but other co-curricular activities took place between the course. The university doesn't have strong connections, not at least in archaeology. Companies come to hire in courses like BBA, B.Com, and Computer Engineering, and many more.
Infrastructure: The faculty for archaeology is quite good compared to the other classrooms. Almost every room has only one fan, which makes it hard for people to stay hydrated in summer. There's one canteen in B.A. and it provides options for eggs and vegetarian food. The canteen has been renovated recently. If you need more options in food, then you need to go to the Science faculty.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful. No offense, but they could improve their teaching methods and can do a lot better. More visual presentations and learning techniques would be more helpful. Exams are quite easy to crack, but the main issue is results, which are never shown on time. It takes 2-3 months for results to come out.
Other: The college is so vintage that it needs an upgrade in every possible way. Infrastructure, faculty members, services, better communication throughout the process, and a lot more. Time has passed and yet this university is still at the same place. It just gets worse and worse.

Hi, You need to have English as a mandatory subject in your 12th. There are no marks declared. Admission is based on merit. So, higher the marks, the better it is. Best of luck!
