MUHS is a government university. It is one of the top universities for studying both modern medicine methods and Indian Systems of Medicine. The university was established in 1998 by the state [Government of Maharashtra] through an ordinance. MUHS offers undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and Ph.D. courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Nursing, and Physiotherapy. The university also offers fellowship, Certificate courses, and UG/PG Diploma courses under various specialisations.

MUHS Nashik admissions are conducted based on entrance tests as prescribed by central and state government norms. The major exam that is considered for Maharashtra University of Health Sciences MUHS admissions is the NEET exam. Nation-wide Medical admissions are conducted via the NEET exam. In both cases, candidates must qualify for the BSc eligibility criteria which include twelve years of school education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology with a minimum of 50% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ST/OBC; 45% aggregate for PWD category candidates) along with English as one of the subjects. And requires candidates to be a minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31 of the year of admission (Request for relaxation from the prescribed age limit will not be considered for any category of applicants.
