NIT Rourkela is a top NIT and a recommended place for any branch, including Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The department has a good environment for research, and placement statistics are quite good. However, the faculty might not be as good as it should be. Unless you have a serious interest in electronics, it's not recommended to opt for ECE, as most students are placed in IT companies after studying computer subjects.
