It is a good college for students who work hard and want good jobs and placements.

Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, but students need to focus in class and study regularly. The course curriculum is the same as it has been for a long time and follows an old structure. Some first-year and add-on subjects are not very useful. Semester exams are easy if you study regularly and attend classes. But many students, including me, leave preparation for the last moment, making it difficult. The pass percentage is around 35%.

Great choice for Mining Engineering with supportive faculty and vibrant culture.

Faculty: The faculty members in the mining department are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and generally supportive. The teaching quality is good, though some subjects require self-study. The curriculum is relevant and aligned with industry standards. Semester exams are moderate difficult, and the pass percentage is quite high, around 90-95%. .

More than just academics - Life at NIT Rourkela.

Faculty: Faculty in the Mining department are qualified and experienced, but teaching quality can vary from professor to professor. Some are very helpful and explain concepts clearly, and others are more focused on theory. The course curriculum is relevant for core mining concepts, but it doesn't fully make students industry-ready, so practical learning and self-effort are important. Semester exams are moderately difficult and manageable if you study consistently. The pass percentage is quite high, and m...

Review of NIT Rourkela - National Institute of Technology.

Faculty: The course curriculum is actually pretty interesting. First, it conducts mid-terms, and then finals. There is about one teacher for every ten students, which is nice. Teachers are highly educated and have worked in their fields for years. We can just go to their office for a chat or even text them if we need help.

All about the NIT Rourkela campus.

Faculty: The faculty members are good, some of them could be difficult to handle, and many of them are extremely chill kind of people. The course is very demanding by the companies, and almost all companies open job roles for this branch. Exams occur 2 times in one semester.

Placements peaked in the year 2025-2026.

Faculty: All faculty members have a very excellent career with multiple research papers and accomplishments under their name. The course curriculum is not very relevant in the first year as subjects such as Mechanical, Chemical, Biology, and Physics are taught, but the courses become much more flexible in the final two years. Marking is mostly lineant but the relative grading is not there, and scoring high scores might be painful, but getting average marks is easier.

Very good. Actually, I have no problem in placement, studies, or other activities.

Faculty: Teachers are very good in nature, and apart from studies, they also talk about other activities and placements. College exams are not that hard if any student studies a little properly. During exam time, teachers also tell important questions, and almost all the students pass the exams. 33 percent is required.

Faculty: Teachers here are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They provide very interactive teaching. The course curriculum is relevant to the present industry, and it makes students industry-ready. The pass percentage is also high in all courses with medium-range exam papers.

NIT Rourkela is an awesome college.

Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders. The courses are relevant to industry needs. Besides, one has to prepare himself/herself too. Each semester has two exams, a midterm and an end-of-term exam. One needs to have at least 35% in order to pass the course.

It's a good college as it's one of the top most colleges in India. The college life is good.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but the curriculum is very old and not suited to modern days. It does not make a student industry-ready. Exams are quite difficult, especially the end-of-semester exams, because the syllabus is very wide, and they ask mid-semester portions. The pass percentage is 35 percent.

Good college, the best NIT in India.

Faculty: The faculty in our college is very well qualified. Most of them hold a Ph.D. from some prestigious universities abroad. We have 2 exams per semester. Midterms for 30 marks for each subject and end-terms for 50 marks. The remaining 20 marks out of 100 marks are internal and are given based on class performance and class tests. Each semester, we have 5 theory subjects and 3 practical labs. We have viva and practical exams for our practical subjects, and the professors also take regular class tests...
